Long distance relationships don't work. :p Well, at least 99% of the time. The ones that you will hear saying that it works are those who have never tried it or are currently in one. If you are in one, there is very good chance that it will fall apart and you will feel stupid for thinking that it would actually work out.

I speak from experience. I pulled off about three years with one person, with no physical contact at all. It's one of the dumbest things I've ever done. However, if visit your lover from time to time, it may just work out if you plan on moving closer some time in the near future.

The same seems to go with friends, too, but it is easier to pick up where you left off if you manage to get back in touch with them.
