I picked All of the above, because they seem to go along with one another. I wanna hear other people's say in it, though.

Uh... what?

Controversial as in...? Actual importance, that people bitch about most, or what?

Cause I mean, politics is fueled by controversy so... yeah?

Overall controversy. In every single way you could think of. What people discuss wrongly about most, bitch about, you name it.

Discuss wrongly about most?

This is an argument of semantics here. The fact of it dwells on that the subjective nature of debate will swing what to what end. I mean, none of these really cause debate controversies when they're done with people that are on debate teams or anything on the like. It is your duty to take them on. Debates like these only invoke controversy when one side lets their emotions get too much into it rather than attempting to take a steady objective look at the issue. And really, I'd say that abortion is either a pigeon card for people trying to use it for political opportunism, ideological balderdash or for shrill religious screamathons.

I understand. I was just curious to see where people stood. I put abortion because it's been a "hot-button" issue for the past decade or so.

Oh, and again, I understand. But I mean, in the terms of it...I think that the poll can be a little off putting and alienating for many people in major debates. But as for controversy - I think that the Iran-American relationships on the lead up to the Iraq conflict are probably the most controversial issue that no one here will ever hear about.

Okay, so what's so bad about debating? Even if it gets people worked up, or put their "emotions" into it. It's good to do that, it's healthy, and it educates everyone by just simply listening to strong views from other iduviduals.

Read it a few times.

Paraphrased it says: Debates about those issues only become controversial when one side lets their emotions get the better of them.

I'd rather debate with people who have their emotions in it, because they are the genuine article. It's boring debating against someone who does'nt even believe in what they are advocating.

Why doesn't this poll have the controversy controversy? The controversy over which controversy is the most controversial.

And how can you have "All of the above" when the question says "which is the most"?

There is no one "magic topic" which is controversial universally. Furthermore, people can have HUGE controversies about something absolutely ridiculous. Therefore, your original idea has good intentions... but falls flat. I can't really vote on it.
