| I'm Ryusui, and I've been fooling with translation hacking on and off for the past few years. I have yet to actually release a completed patch, but I currently have one in beta testing, and I've done some compression-related work on a few other titles. I do my own translation work, ASM hacking and graphics hacking.
http://theryusui.googlepages.com/patlabor.rup This is a graphics patch for Patlabor - The Mobile Police for SNES (in NINJA 2.0 format; get the patcher from http://ninja.cinnamonpirate.com/). I've yet to do enough work to get the dialogue translated (which will require some text compression), but the command buttons have been translated. The font used for them is the VWF from RPGe's fan translation of Final Fantasy V, and the images themselves were created using my own TheCheat. These graphics were stored in linear format and compressed; the act of inserting these graphics required two stages of conversion using custom tools written by myself. |
