I typically sort my downloads into certain categories - scattered around as opposed to being in a root directory that contains it all. None of the folders contain the word "stuff" or any variation thereof - they are properly named. It's very neat and orderly.

"stuff" is a folder that appears on my Desktop from time to time, usually for periods not exceeding two weeks, before disappearing again.

"stuff" appears when I've been saving too much shit to my Desktop.

"stuff" is usually quickly sorted out and removed as soon as I'm feeling desktop-neat-freak-y.

Variations on "stuff" include "stupid shit" "dvbklfjhb" (etc) and "blah".

Drive F:\ is named Files and holds random junk. For the most part it's very well organized, but of note are F:\Other Stuff, F:\Temp, F:\Documents\Random (looooot of old junk I should delete), and to a lesser extent F:\ itself. All messy as hell. I also don't really organize my images (F:\Images contains 868 files, and F:\Images\Funny contains another 769), and have two random junk folders on my website, one for stuff I link to here and one for stuff I link to elsewhere.

My pr0n folder, while fairly organized, has random filenames. Eg \672, \doa, \duck (nothing to do with ducks ), \egg (again, nothing to do with eggs), \f, 01.jpg, 1.png, 01.psd, 1.psd, 01b.jpg, blah 4.jpg, 0,,2004511290,00.jpg, etc. For the most part I just mash the numeric pad when choosing a filename for these, or keep the original filename, or if it's a series, choose a random word or random letters from the person's name and append sequential numbers to it.

Bah. My files are in Program Files, and everything else is in My Documents or its subfolders. There is no reason to keep everything together when categorizing it logically is so much easier.

Ive got this folder named "Random" in My Documents...

Does that count?

Everything... PRETTY much has a logical place in my hard drive... there are a few extraneous files here and there though.

My stuff is pretty well sorted, but if I had to count something as my "stuff" folder, it would be My Documents, since that's where most things end up (or rather, they end up in other folders inside of it for the most part).

My Documents

Size: 52.0 GB (55,909,396,517 bytes)

Contains: 15,696 Files, 529 Folders

All of my anime used to be in My Documents as well (inside of My Videos, that is)... Now they're in the 750 GB hard drive I bought JUST for storing anime. It is drive K:\ for no particular reason other than that A:\ through J:\ (with the exception of B:\) were already taken.

Big Disk (K:\)

Used space: 168,356, 593,664 bytes 156 GB

Contains: 960 Files, 75 Folders

The other qualifier for the title of my "stuff" folder would be my desktop, where I tend to save and download things until I feel there's too many icons (or, in the case of anime series, until I have downloaded all of it and am no longer seeding any of it) at which point I move everything to their appropriate folders (or delete them if I don't need to keep them).

Desktop

Size: 16.4 GB (17,690,234,869 bytes)

Contains: 1,326 Files, 176 Folders

And the only things that don't end up in My Documents or K:\ are programs and their related files (such as roms), which end up in Program Files.

Program Files

Size: 48.1 GB (51,661,298,928 bytes)

Contains: 147,732 Files, 10,469 Folders

My computer is horribly sorted, I have old folders labeled things like Matt's Stufffff, New Folders all over the place, and a My Music folder inside a My Music folder.

oh boy where do I start? Well on my old computer I have a "paul" folder that's somewhat organized because it's mostly games and stuff each in it's own folder then a "old" and "not as old" folder branched off of that which is pretty much the same but from different times and there's the my documents folder.

On this one I have a separate "Documents" folder on another hard disk which has a lot of crap then there ftp://paulman.hopto.org/ which is full of crap and you probably shouldn't click on if you value your life, ESPECIALLY the uploads section.

EDIT: oh and there's more. I have a my music folder where I pretty much just one time copied everything in "Documents" named *.mp3, *.ogg, *.wma, etc into. Also, before I went through all of the crap, my desktop took up almost all the screen worth of icons.

4.8 GB in My Documents, which includes roms, burned CDs, StepMania Songs, SPC songs, and My Pictures where I put my random Photoshop stuff.

Meh, not as much as others, but its a lot of files...

I have no stuff folder.

C:\> Search "stuff"

Search returned 0 matches

My C:\ Drive is just called "Main"... So is my D:\ Drive

And I keep stuff mostly in dedicated folders. SMW Playground, CB, Cotmk2, etc. (CB is Chronicles Backup, SMW Playground is an SMW hack I don't *think* I've announced, but I'm using sprite tool to create a whole new BOSS)

Yeah, I had one on my desktop for the longest time. Any downloads/games/random programs went in there. But I cleaned it out, and now I have a "stuff" folder for random files... pictures, music, etc.

Yep, mine's called "Junk". I've been meaning to categorize everything in there... one day.

I have a lot of folders with the word "stuff" in them (games stuff, art stuff). I won't know what's inside otherwise, apparently.

That would be My Documents. Then there's the "other stuff" folder. With other stuff not fit for a normal folder. If you catch my drift.

I have a "stuff" folder where I keep shortcuts to all my Apps/Important Folders. I don't like it on my desktop, because that's my "stuff" folder in the way you see it, where all my junk get's piled up until I sort it.
