Jack looked around the unfamiliar terrain as the skies started to cloud over. Just great. Its going to rain soon. He muttered to himself as the wind started to pick up slightly. Glancing around he tried to figure out what he was going to do, seeing as how he had no clue where he was, or where he could go once the rain started. He sighed miserably and decided to go search for an abandoned park bench.

this is weird. Everybody seems to be absent. Like everyone decided to just stay home, and avoid the risks that always came with leaving the confines of their home.

Tossing a look around, he hoped to come across someone, anyone to relieve the boreddom that threatened to swallow him whole.

Amaya looked around as she walked around. She seemed off a bit. She felt the wind nipping at her ankles and the clouds threatening to drench her. She walked around looking for a park bench or a tree. She then noticed a young male also looking around. She didn't say anything just kept walking. She then found herself walking toward him. She accidentally bumped into him knocking both of them to the ground.

Jack fell over as the stranger bumped into him. Slightly irritated he rised to his knees, dusting himself off. Just who do you think yo - He abruptly stopped as he got a good luck at the lady. She wasn't what was considered the norm in these areas. Compared to his slightly dirty clothes, Her clothes were almost decent. He held his hand out to help her up
Uhh sorry bout that He said politely.

"No it is my fault. I wasn't paying attention. I am Amaya by the way. Your name is?" She said while taking his hand and getting up. She wore only a pair of black pants and a black shirt. She also had on a black belt trench hat and her shoes were very small so her ankles were showing.

What? My name? Oh, uh, people around here call me Jack He said, turning slightly red. He wasn't used to people, even people who had bumped into him, taking even a slight notice that he was there. Glancing nervously around, he was still at a loss as to where he was going to stay for the night. So You new around here? He asked trying to be polite as he pulled his worn jacket closer to him to fend off the wind. It was futile battle, he knew, but he tried nonetheless. Semi wishing that it was still the summer, he continued to fend off the wind.

He looked to see how the lady, what was her name? Amaya? was fairing in this weather. Her clothes seemed to be during as good a job as his at repeling the weather. Realizing he was still holding her hand, he turned bright red and dropped it quickly, as if it had burnt him.

So....Where you staying for the night He asked trying to maintain the conversation before it died.

"Nice to meet you Jack. Yeah I am new around here. I don't have anywhere to stay for the night. I am actually an orphan. I lost my parents quite a while ago." She said while blushing a bright red also. She didn't look like it much, but she was a theif. She started to shiver as her shoulders were revealing as she didn't have a coat. "I-I am cold J-Jack." She started to curse herself out mentally for not stealing a coat from the last home she was in.

So she was an orphan. That explained why she looked out of place here. She wasn't from around here. I wonder what happened to her parents Deciding that it was not his bussiness, he glanced around, summing up the area, and calculating what the odds of him finding a sheltered, covered place was. Sighing, he returned to the person in front of him. When she told him that she was cold, He noticed that she wasn't wearing a jacket. Here. Take mine. I don't need it, I'm used to this weather

This was only a half truth. He was used to the weather, as he had lived in it for a while. He wasn't exactly sure how long it had been. He used to know what day it was, and what year. But living out here, he had learned that it didn't matter. he didn't have any use for the day or the year. Out here the only thing he needed were the neccesities to survive. And you didn't need to be able to keep track of time, or know the date, to survive.

Why don't you tag along with me. I ain't got nowhere to stay either. We can look together He said as he cast a weary glance up at the sky that tauntingly threatened to release its anger at any passing moment that pleased its whim.

"Thanks." She said while taking the jacket and placing it around her thin shoulders. She looked around and sighed. She then smiled and said. "Okay. Thanks again. So Jack, dumb question, how old are you?" She seemed a bit ashamed when she asked the question. She was blushing a bright red just like her eye color.

How old are you? the question echoed in his head How old AM I?! He thought to himself. He realized that he didn't know. He was entirely sure when, but he had just stopped counting. It had been somewhere around 14 - 15 when He stopped. He was just to busy trying to live to spend his time keeping track of his b - day.

You know what....I...I don't know how old I am. he said. Why? Have you eaten anything lately? Cuz If you hungry I think I got enough cash for a couple of burgers. If your hungry....That is...

"Oh. Does it really matter why? I have eaten something. I am fine. I wonder where is everyone. I feel sorta lonely without anyone else out here except us." She said half-annoyed and half-curious. She felt like a complete ditz. Jack didn't know his age, did she even know hers. She always thought she was 16 because that is how old everyone said she looked. She shook her head and some of her red streaked black hair fell in front of her face. She felt like a complete idiot. 'Why am I acting like a complete ditz? I don't even know why I even brought the whole question of his age. I am such a ditz.'She thought to herself.

Jack took another look around, the emptiness unnerving him almost as much as the silence. It was unusual for the place to be this vacant. Normally it was crowded with so much people you couldn't see five feet through the sea of them. I guess it doesn't matter why. I was wondering the same thing. Its normally packed at this time. Maybe its the weather. It has the tendancy to clear busy places. He could tell just by a mere glance at her that she was starting to feel a little emberrassed. In an attempt to ease the tense mood, even if it was by just a small amount. Sooo.... You know anybody 'round here, yet?

As soon as the word's left his mouth he remembered that she had said she was new to the area. How stupid of him not to remember that. By now rain had started to fall and so he moved to stand under a tree near them. At least it's better then being outright in the rain. He thought as the rain really started to pour down. This was the only part of being homeless that really pushed his buttons. The rain. He had nothing against the rain. It was the other way around. The rain had something against him. He shrugged his defiance to the rage of the weather and returned to his conversation.

She shook her head and looked around also. She seemed a little tense. She sighed and walked over toward him almost falling over. She had felt so embarrassed.

So she didn't have anywhere to stay. He sighed. She was in no better a position than he was, except that he had bummed a decent amount of cash during the day to buy something to fill what had once been his stomache. His stomache decided that right now was the right time to remind him of the fact that it's fury hadn't been appeased in what felt to Jack had been a long time.

Hey, I'm a little famished, so I'm goin' to go get something to eat. You wanna join me? He asked hoping that she had enjoyed his company as much as he had enjoyed hers. If you're not stayin anywhere tonight you could join me. I mean, I don't really have any predetermined spot to stay, but at least the company would be nice He stuttered sounding like a complete fool. She would never want to accompany him. And why should she? He was a stranger she had just met 10 minutes before. If the places where reversed he wouldn't stay. And he could expect no less from her. Oh well, what could he say. He needed to eat. Whether or not she came is up to her.

He cocked his head and grinned slightly, happy to have company, before heading in the direction of the fast food restraunt. So her parents are dead. That explains alot. Jack knew that alot of children who's parents have died ended up on the streets. He also knew that ending up on the streets was one of the better things that could happen to an orphan.

Jack shivered slightly in the wind as he reached his destination and pushed the door open, a gust of wind following him into the restraunt. He sat down at the table and opened up the menu to see what they had. "So, What do you want?" He asked her as he glanced at the prices on the right hand side of the titles. He settled for a double cheese burger extra fries and a water.

Amaya smiled and said. "I just want some fries and a vanilla shake." She didn't even look at the menu. She looked around and pulled out a simple ring from her pocket. She placed it on her finger and started to admire it.

Jack nodded to her in acknowledgement and called a waiter over. "I would like a double cheeseburger, extra fries, and water, and the young lady here would like some fries, and a vanilla shake." Jack directed his attention back to her as the waiter left with their orders. "So..." he said in a pitiful attempt at a conversation. He had no idea where to start, so he just blantly asked, "What um...What's your situation?"

"My situation? Oh, I am a theiving orphan. I have stolen quite a few things. Let me treat you to this Jack. I have more than enough money to pay for both of us. trust me, oh and don't tell anyone, but the reason I was expelled from school, was because I stole this ring and quite a bit of other stuff from the principal. I pick any lock with ease and I can get anything from anyone without them knowing." She said while smiling. She then snatched a belt off a random guy who was walking by. She smirked and placed it around her waist and looked completely innocent when the male turned around to look at her.

Jack half smiled at this, knowing how foolish it is for someone to admit a skill like this. Especailly to someone on the streets. There were so many thugs on the streets who would love to have a tool like this girl. Shaking his head at her stupidity, and obvious lack of experience. Of course he was not going to turn down her offer to pay. Every free meal, was an extra meal more than he had before. As the waiter came back bearing their food, Jack's stomach let out a protest against the long wait, as if complaining about the speed the waiter was walking, which seemed to be as slow as he could. As soon as the waiter set the food down, Jack pounced on it like a lion on fresh prey after a long, long winter. In five minute's his food was gone, his plate as clean as if it had never been there to begin with. "Well, if you don't have anywhere or anyone to go to, you can stay with me." He said hospitably, as the waiter came to take his spotless plate.

"Thanks Jack" She said while sipping on her milkshake. She then ate some of her fries and giggled. "You know Jack, I can tell you think that I would be the perfect tool for a thug, but someone like me, is not one to piss off, why do you think I travel alone?" she smiled and took out her ribbon from her hair. Her streaked hair gleamed in the light reflecting the off her red streaks. She smiled and looked around. She sighed and looked at Jack.
