I don't have an article on this but you might be able to find one online. This was in the newspaper here less than a year ago and my physics teacher last year showed me.

Ever wondered what it would be like to teleport? Well, they invented it. It's possible now, but they don't let living creatures test it yet. A science experiment based in some desert or something somewhere actually tested teleporting a couple of tools to an area about 10 metres (or was it a mile? I forget what he said) away. The tools appeared in 100% perfect condition with absolutely no abnormalities in the material.

Now, say in like 10 years they finalize this and actually sell teleporation devices (I'd highly doubt it), would you use them? I sure as hell wouldn't... the idea of being vaporized and being thrown across invisible dimensions is just a little, y'know... disturbing.

hell yeah, personally i think it would be awesome, even if they didnt sell personal devices, if they made devices that went to other places, like instant teleport to say hawaii...it would definently have alot of good effects, and I would definently use them.

I forget exactly what that method was called, but it was basically the same as 'copy-paste-delete'.

Obviously, you can see where ethics would come in here.

Yeah before they actually make a personal teleporter they might need to make a few restrictions or a device to stop people from teleporting to specific areas.

Because I doubt anybody wants to lock the doors in their house then suddenly turn around and see about 10 robbers teleport into your living room.

< childish thinking >
I would personally use it, if possible. Can you imagine how much ass I can kick, by teleporting in quick sessions around the guy and throw punches from everywhere? Yeah. < /childish thinking >

If I knew, I would not ask the question. That's just common sense. I wouldn't have asked if your post made sense.

I can't find any articles on this on google; only things on the first successful teleportation of protons.

Therefore, I remain rather skeptical.

I haven't bothered to look on Google yet myself for it. I might ask my old physics teacher about it again just to get the newspaper article and scan it. I don't remember where it was (something tells me it was in Utah but I don't think so).

Edit: A news story on teleporting with lasers but not tools:

XD! I see what you mean.

Of course I´d use this thing. It´d spare me a lot of time getting to and from school. You wouldn´t have to use cars for transports.

But I´d like it to be tested carefully first as I don´t want my legs to end up somewhere else than the rest of my body.

I'd use a tomato, if I get marinaro sauce on the other side then no go for me.

... This being what I originally referred to. But, there is a HUGE difference between simple atoms and larger, more complex things like large tools.

Indeed, Alastor. But like I said I don't know how I'd look for it on Google so if I am able to get the newspaper from my physics teacher I can show you.

In order to be able to teleport, you have to be blue and speak with a german accent. /badreference>

I dunno, I'd feel kinda antsy about using a teleporter.

I've read somewhere that the teleporter just simply copies you, and then teleports your data over to the other side, and then recreates you. The ORIGINAL you is deleted... and you'd just be a copy of the original. O_o

"Hello Carrie, I'm Jeff #0489." "Use the teleporter much?" "...yes."

Creeeeeeeeeepy.

I guess there would be a destination pad of some sort. Like you punch in numbers to get you somewhere. If you get the wrong one, you're either stuck, completely screwed, or both.

That´d be quite...uh, depressing.
