Does that mean the most activity always happen on the last days of the month? And that the board would be more active if the month was just 15 days long? (Or if an ACS winner was announced twice per month...)

Oh, heavens no! An active day can come at any time of the month, it's just that this month, the first week was not very active. So in other words, more active days have yet to come this month, but they will come (...right?). The question is: when?

You make it seem as if it was very random

There should be a cycle or something, and by statistics and probability you should be able to predict if a day is going to be very active or not, and even by how much (Just as we predict weather though XD).

But, that's only if you're obsessed with the ACS, or if it affects the way you're posting on the board. And I don't see how that information may help you on winning it, other than predicting that you're not going to rank that day anyway, so you don't post at all O.o

I can't imagine there being a pattern worth noting. I'm sure there are a few days every year guaranteed to be busy, but... I think otherwise it would just be a coincidence.

My manager at work tries to do this with how busy it will be... "well last year this day was really slow, so I'll leave you here by yourself..." But she's never right.

Weekends "should" be active... but never are...

And then days that "should" not show activity wind up getting 600 posts

That is a remarkable idea. Just make sure that it is a line graph: it will be better that way.

There are bound to be some noticeable patterns, particularly around the holidays. Nothing is for sure, however.
