My only question is did anyone ever get a Mew to beat out a Mewtwo? Sure he can learn everything but...

Well, some of us are purists, or at least don't like to cheat. I prefer to have legitimate data rather then sharked data.

Mew has more defenses then Metwo by 5 in both, greatly offset by Mewtwo's Special Attack and Attack. 154 base SpA, 110 Att, versus Mew's base of 100 in everything.
Mewtwo is faster...
Shadow Ball is best attack against eachother for both..
Mew's best bet would probably be Hypnosis and Shadow Ball.

Bad luck, I got 3 Mews. Good luck to ya. I wouldn't mind trading mine away for a Ho-oh...

Yea, I just realized that it was going on yesterday, so I had to quick make arrangements to go there.

At least they're giving you a legit Mew... even though the lines would have been insane years ago I'm guessing. :\ But hey, if there's still interest now, then more credit to Nintendo.

Except the ones they were giving away were sharked anyways. Real legit Mews are level 30.

Untill now - Dun Dun DUNNNNNN.

Besides it's easy to fake an offical Mew using a gameshark, since you can change the OT with a few codes.

Actually, it's even easier than that. Just use a code to get to World's Edge Island and, like.. actually catch Mew. Like you're theoretically supposed to.

Problem with that is, it is cheating. Nintendo has not released the item nessacary to get there. For faking these Mews... can you get the Hidden Trainer Code right? And get the 'Where it was Caught' bit put in properly, since you cannot see what that bit says?

Those codes do exist, but no one bothers to use them. Most people go OMG I HAve mew!!! and be done with it.

Ya know, I had a legit Mew a long time ago, back in middle school, on Pokemon Red. I remember because I waited in a long line at Toys R Us to get one. I kinda outgrew Pokemon though, so yeah....

I traded a level 200-ish Nidoking (about 15 minutes worth of work ) for a real Mew back in the day. Then the save file got erased.

Playing with the OT and other stats via Gameshark to make authentic-looking Mews and other Pokémon with funny stats was amusing too. Give a Pokémon an impossible name or something and trade it to someone else and see how they react.

I'm going to assume you're joking, but on the off chance that you're not, Mewtwo was available in Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Fire Red, and Leaf Green, as soon as you beat the Elite 4.

Yeah, you just had to go face off against Mewtwo and capture him... unless you saved the Master Ball (at least in Red/Blue) for that very purpose.

I'm fairly sure you need the National Dex in FR and LG, thanks to their adding Wobbuffet to the Pokemon inside. But yeah.

On another note, all these "promotional pokemon" are starting to piss me off. It's the one thing (besides the incessive need for gimmicks) that makes me dislike Nintendo. Not only are they very regional oriented, but once those stop, you're screwed. I personally try to find a way to cheat all those bastards into my game.

I had a Mew on my Pokemon Blue, not because I went to some toyshop. I used that glitch... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
