Last year I announced a team smb1 hack that was being worked on, and so it's finally done. It's just a basic level, text, graphics hack. Thanks for those who helped out, please read the readme for more info okay? Now here's some screens...

And here's the patch.

See ya's...

Nice work, Googie...but, um...it's kinda close to AsakuraGin's hack's name.

lolz, it's all good. Mario Evolution was the old Tek Hack's name that was used back in the day in 2003. I'm just glad it's done. I'm gonna have a nice cold Heineken.

Heh, it's like the stages are made of 20% of ground, the rest being gaps... Typical Googie.
Funny how you just can't leave SMB1, despite your original plans.

Are you talking about the worlds I made or the whole hack? All I did was eight levels, the text, and the title screen.

I didn't actually play the hack, so I can't comment on it as a whole, but simply on the screenshots you posted... If you prefer, the other guy(s) of the team has(ve) similar level design tastes as you.

The fact Insectduel worked on this lowers the game rating by default...
But I like the goomba sprite...
Anyway, hard hack, as expected... I even managed to die within the first 2 seconds, thinking that red part at the beginning of the first level was some kind of bridge...

Good hack, but I have to stop it at 3-5 since the midpoint starts you over a pit. Challenging hack though.

I forgot to fix that, thanks Brandon for letting me know, I really appreciate it. I fixed 3-5 now, it shouldn't be a problem now. Thanks again.

That was 4matsy who did those Mario graphics. They were from one of his old smb1 hacks. What about if I were to use AP's hack where you can use the sprite from smb3?

From the screen shots, this hack looks like it could be nice and challenging. (Just how i like it) Thanks for sharing Googie. It's been so long since i've used an nes emulator i can't even remember which one is the best. Do you have a suggestion as to which nes emu runs games the finest?

Considering how advanced most NES emulators are, it's mostly a matter of taste... My 2 favorites are Jnes and Nestopia. Nestopia, however, seems to display funny colors... At least SMB doesn't look the same with it and Jnes.

Edit: I received hack threats because of my insectduel comment above, haha...

Thanks for trying the hack out Amano. You can use my personal favorite Nes emulator FCEUXD SP 1.06, which you can snag here.

Nice job. Looks pretty good altogether, although the flame bar coming out of the bullet bill cannon is kind of weird...

I agree with this, and add that Lakitu looks a little odd in my opinion. However, your graphical style and use of palletes are nice overall.

Minor thing I forgot to mention, 2-5 doesn't properly stop at the bowser.
