Hey I'm FelCaina, recently achieved my approval, read the board rules and I have a few questions.

I cannot find a working tutorial on Advance Map or Elite Map. No Acrobat Reader file will open, and after a few days of google searching, I found PokeCommunity which would have one if the server was up on any link I found. I'm saying this to let you know I've worked on finding my own answers.

I am creating a hack of Ruby and someday a hack of Fire Red. I have redone most of the routes in Ruby and I’ve done all I can to create a different physical feel in the game. Now I’m working on some towns I skipped. Changes I’ve been proud to make are to create a swamp in PetalBurg woods carrying on into the town. Altered most of the routes surrounding MossDeep into a flooded rain forest, completed using dive points, grass and trees. Mauville Underground is a mountain and I got rid of the bike path, for a mountain range. If you can give me a week or so ( I’m a full time student and hold a full time job) I’ll post some pics, I need to give it a trial play to make sure I made the right choices on the movement permissions I’ve played it as I’ve gone through and checked it with other maps, but some recent editions really utilize the movement permissions well. Anyway I wanted this to serve as an introduction, because I refuse to place picture of my work only to find I’ve failed miserably in the execution of the movement permissions and can‘t make it work.


My questions are as follows any thing about them would help because I know next to nothing about them.

1] How do you redirect warps and created new warps with in the game?
- my goal is create a series of caves that are entered and exited to two different locations to warp around the world.

Cave Entrance A opens to Cave 1 [C1] C1 exits to CEB CEB when entered leads to CEA

2] How do I make new items and change their contents.
3] How do I add new sprites such as cut bushes, strength rocks, can you create dive points in FireRed?


I know you must think this hack is impossible with what I know, but given your help and information I receive I will complete this new game and it will be worth your time to play. I also understand that this board is a privilege and although it is not much I will keep track of all of you who offer your help and make a citation as I release patched and updates.

I will answer question 1 in a moment.

2. No one knows how to make new items yet, in theroy oe could copy an item onto a ????????? item. However it has not been done to my knowledge.

3. What do you mean? There is scrips for those, all you have to do is set a sprite and sprite for it, you could use cut on a rock if you used cut's script with the rock sprite.

You can make more sprites and warps by using advance map or elite map and changeing the number of events and repointing.

3.A. Dive points = no

1. You see when you click on a warp in advance map the numbers that apear in the info box beside it? Those are what the warp points to.

[Map bank] [Map Number] [Warp Number]
0 9 1 is a littleroot town warp for example.

Okay a few more Questions, thanks for the help in Advance.- (lame pun)

1. Has anyone advanced far in enough in a hack to get into hacking the Shoal Cave? I wanted to make a town there underwater, I know there are two differnet Maps, so I wondered if that would work.

2. Does adding maps has any major out outcome on rom space? I am adding serveral islands around the frontier, for access Lugia, HoHo and Mew

3. How can add Snorlax's, can I copy FireRed's script, or redesign sudowoodo?
Would the PokeFlute work?

4. Is copying the data in Advance Map for a sprite enough to move the sprite from map to map, or do I still have to edit the script?

5. How do I get to Mirage Island the Map dosen't work?

Actually Darkie, Obsidian had a "Hentai Mag" item made exactly like you just described. It was one of those "time and place for everything" items.

2. There's plenty free space left to waste, ain't there?

4. Sprite scripts aren't bound to the sprite's map. Moving a sprite shouldn't give much problems.

Ah I should of been clearer, I mean that no new items with effects has been created, like something that changes the player sprite but causes no speed effects like the bike. However you are right it is possable to cange the name and description of any ???????? item.

Unless you did something I am no aware of?



5.] The map still works, all you have to do is chane it, or add a direct warp.

1.) You can make a underwated town simpley by seting the weather type to underwater.
