i'm not sure i'm posting this in the right place. but i'd like a color scheme that is white, or light gray in background color (with maybe blue headings and stuff) and black text. (like a generic Invision Power Board or Ikonboard skin)

i tried a bunch of schemes and couldn't find one like this, so i'm assuming there isn't one at the moment.

You could always make your own scheme.

Open up a scheme file in the schemes directory and edit it.

<?php
$formcss=1;
$inputborder=color for input field';
$boardtitle='<img src=url of banner here border=0>';
$numdir='num directory';
$numfil='num file';
$bgimage='background image url';
$newthreadpic='<img src=newthread picture url border=0>';
$newreplypic='<img src=newreply picture url border=0>';
$bgcolor=background color';
$textcolor='text color';
$linkcolor='link color';
$linkcolor2=active link'; //Not sure
$linkcolor3='hover link'; //Not sure
$linkcolor4='visited link'; //Not sure
$tablebg1='table1 background color';
$tablebg2='table2 background color';
$categorybg='categorybg background color;
$tableheadtext='table head text color';
$tableheadbg='table head background color';
$tableborder='border color';
?>

Hope that helps.

Open them in wordpad/notepad or some html editor.

I thought he was talking about here on the board, not on his own board. We can't make our own scheme for this board.

If you do not know how to edit files in a text editor in order to make changes to your forum; I would suggest that perhaps you should not be using an AcmlmBoard.

The schemes are fairly easy to edit; the only "tricky" thing is finding the hex value for the colours you would like to use -- and I just get Photoshop to do that part for me.

Kingpin's right. i'm talking about this forum. if i made a forum i sure as hell wouldn't want it to look like this. (no offense to anyone who worked on this.)

i was just requesting a skin that isn't so dark. maybe i posted this in the wrong place?

Well, with regards to this forum, I'm not sure if Xkeeper accepts user-submitted themes; but you could try to make your own scheme, and then submit the file(s) to Xkeeper.

You'd want to try out your theme on an AcmlmBoard though, so you'd need one of your own (or someone else's) for testing. That way you can see what looks good first.

Depends, I was supposed to have uploaded several themes (all by one person) but I just got bored...

I should really make a *real* admin panel, though the more I think about it the easier it seems :o

I'm assuming that you're extending this logic to mean that if you think about it enough, it'll get so easy that it literally makes itself.

As far as color schemes go, I've found myself mostly satisfied with the selection we have, though a white/gray/black one is missing... not one I'd use, but I could see it getting some use if it wasn't shitty.

yeah i just really want a white background. it makes a message board look way better and completely different from the black we're used to imo

ok i made a scheme... but there's a problem that xkeeper doesn't know how to fix.

can anyone help me out? the colors are all fine EXCEPT for dropdown boxes and input boxes... for these, the background where you enter text is black instead of white.

here's what i have

<?php
$formcss=0;
$inputborder='000000';
$bgcolor='F0F0F0';
$textcolor='000000';
$linkcolor='0000cc';
$linkcolor2='660099';
$linkcolor3='0000cc';
$linkcolor4='0000cc';
$tablebg1='D0D0D0';
$tablebg2='DDDDDD';
$categorybg='D0D0D0';
$tableheadtext='000000';
$tableheadbg='BFBFBF';
$tableborder='000000';
$nmcol[0]=array('-1'=>'0000cc','0000cc','0000cc','0000cc','0000cc');
$nmcol[1]=array('-1'=>'0000cc','0000cc','0000cc','0000cc','0000cc');
$nmcol[2]=array('-1'=>'0000cc','0000cc','0000cc','0000cc','0000cc');
?>

Well, dropdown and input boxes uses CSS, too.

Find in layout.php
$css.="
textarea,input,select{
border: #$inputborder solid 1px;
background:#000000;
color: $textcolor;
font: 10pt $font;}
.radio{
border: none;
background:none;
color: $textcolor;
font: 10pt $font;}
.submit{
border: #$inputborder solid 2px;
font: 10pt $font;}
";

Replace with:

$css.="
textarea,input,select{
border: #$inputborder solid 1px;
background:#$inputbg;
color: $txtacolor;
font: 10pt $font;}
.radio{
border: none;
background:none;
color: $radiocolor;
font: 10pt $font;}
.submit{
border: #$inputborder solid 2px;
font: 10pt $font;}
";

Then in ALL schemes add:

$inputbg='';
$txtacolor='';
$radiocolor='';

$inputbg is the background color for input boxes, textarea and such.
$txtacolor is the text color for them and
$radiocolor is the color for checkboxes or something.

I doubt Xkeeper will modify this and go through every scheme just to add another color for the input boxes and such but that's the only way to change their colors.

well i just dont get why the scheme i made results in black text box backgrounds whereas, like right now, i'm typing in a white one.

also i dont know anything about css or whatever. i just have a .php file that i want xkeeper to put in the schemes directory so i can use it on this board. i'm assuming just adding the line

$inputbg='FFFFFF';

to it wont work?

Nope, wouldn't work as $inputbg isn't defined in the CSS and therefor it won't work. Either make the text white or lighter or create a new scheme.

and here i thought i was creating a new scheme

this is really confusing.

how come the box i'm typing in right now has a white background and black text without xkeeper having to add all that stuff you said he probably wouldn't want to add?

Because the scheme you're using just uses standard CSS.
Just take out $formcss=1; in your scheme.
