Keele is the self-proclaimed Paragon of Summoner Excellence.

Fires, she is known as the White Mage Paragon.

Auron... the Samurai.

Monica Raybrandt, a Red Mage.

There are many others. Some unfortunate chain of events led them all together to make their home in some undefinable sector of space, from which they'd conduct their operations to eventually rebuild their lives. Along the way, they'd gain more allies to fill their ranks. And, of course, many enemies.

They were known as the Covenant.

There was a Keyper, just like them, that would eventually join... he would take the mantle of the Warrior.

Still, this campaign rages on...

Troy stared dully at a sheet of paper that floated down in front of him. Eventually he got the motive to reach out and grab it, and looked it over carefully. He shifted his thumb, finding several other pages hidden behind it. He ignored them for the time being, looking up at Auron.

Troy : Are you ramming another assignment down my throat... do you have any idea how hard it is to catch a good nap here with no day/night cycle, let alone you bugging the crap out of me?

Auron and Troy stood in a white void, disturbed only by a pair of chairs and a folding table. Auron pushed his spectacles up, sighing to himself.

Auron : I apologize... this is your time, I understand. But if you flip through those sheets, you'll see our situation.

Troy did as he was told.

Troy : ...what about him?

Auron : You've adventured with him, correct?

Troy : Er, a few times.

Auron : The Blue Mage Paragon.

Troy : Well, uh, I did see him copy powers once or twice, that doesn't necessarily mean that he's the Blue Mage... ohhh, I get it, I'm the one that actually knows him... can't you just send someone else to sit down and have a coffee with him, and THEN try to convert him?

Auron : If he is not... then he will be dismissed. There isn't a problem in that case, we will simply keep looking. But if he is... this could be an interesting development in our ranks.

Troy : I don't think he's the kind to sign binding contracts.

Auron : Even if that is the case, it would be wise to let him know exactly what kind of situation he'd be getting himself into if he didn't at the very least accept our help. The Vast is on the move, and you know what follows. Bring him here... by force if necessary.

Troy : I doubt I could do that alone.

Auron : Which is why it is imperative that you use your good relations to your advantage.

On some lonely terran planet in some familiar dimension, a floating island was suddenly bumped slightly off its regular trajectory as a green fireball slammed into its surface. Troy slowly climbed out of the crater, spitting out a mouthful of dirt as he brandished his Chronicle and a second blade of green energy out of thin air. Clamping both to the back of his shell, he took off into the trees ahead. Hopefully he wouldn't have to run into anyone else.

Troy : This is gonna hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you, Kirb.

It was a bright, and sunny day on the island of Neo Grape Gardens, as it usually was. In the southern tip of the island, the residential district (which only had about three or so houses), life was moving by pretty slowly. There hasn't been any crazy antics yet, unless you count the presence of a teddybear in one of the houses.

You just can't keep that bear down.

A bit infront of the Dreamlander household laid what should be a field full of growing crops. Instead, there was just a field of burnt foilage.

Kirbynite: Argh...

Pitch Falco and Nago Gato, a green falcon-quail and a large calico kitty, respectively, were outside testing explosive marbles the household's mad scientist-type, Gooey Matter, had recently made. Kirbynite was tending to his crops, while keeping an eye on his two roommates, when the island shook a bit.

Pitch and Nago lost their grip on the pouch containing the marbles, and, well, the crops laid in a smoldering mess before the pink Dreamlander.

Kirbynite: *sighs* I think I'm gonna head inside.

Kirbynite dragged his feet along the ground, heading back to the house. He momentarily glanced at Nago and Pitch.

Kirbynite: Just be lucky I'm not sending you out into the woods to start clearing out more of those Badnik Robots that're still around.

Speaking of Badnik Robots, these robots were left on island way before Kirbynite had purchased it. These robots were controled by a powerful figure who would ensnare wild beasts and put them inside robots. However, in this time and day, the robots are pretty much hollow, and just run on some unknown power.

Kirbynite assumes that ghosts are actually powering the robots. But he doesn't really feel like investigating.

Of course.. Troy might have to deal with some if he's unlucky..

Troy entered another clearing, stumbling back suddenly as a tree crashed to the ground in front of him. He glanced over to the side where a large green dome-shaped robot on treads crept around the shattered stump, swinging a pair of drill arms.

Badnik : Ground-er! Ground-er! Ground-

A flash of light leapt across the open field, striking it with the sound of twisting metal. The machine sparked for a moment before the severed top half of its torso slid off. Industrial lubricant slowly dripped out. Troy cast his hand forward, causing the Chronicle to reappear in his hands. He turned away, not noticing a squirrel scampering away from the wreckage.

Troy : I really don't have the time for th-

He dove away again as another tree, at least two feet in diameter, fell to the ground. He spat out a mouthful of grass as he pushed himself back up.

Troy : I SAID, I don't...

Another Grounder, at least 30 feet in height, went through the exact same motions.

Grounder : GROUND-ER! GROUND-ER!

Troy :

Kirbynite plopped himself onto his bed. He didn't move until he heard a voice coming from the half-drow girl sitting on the beanbag chair.

Rushuna: What's wrong?

Kirbynite looked to his side to see Rushuna holding a book.

Rushuna: That explosion... Were the crops involved?

Kirbynite: Yeah.

Rushuna: Aw...

And without warning, Gooey kicked the door open.

Gooey: Kirby! Metal animals being active.

Kirbynite: As long as they're staying away fom the residential district, it doesn't matter.

Rushuna: What if someone not of this island is out there? Would it not cause the robots to be active?

Kirbynite let out a groan.

Kirbynite: Fine fine. I'll check it in a bit.. The last thing I need is someone wanting to investigate the Chaos Emeralds or something.

Troy slowly slogged out of what remained of a rice field, covered with grime and totally soaked. In the background the giga-Grounder was firmly entrenched in several feet of mud with its arms pinwheeling.

Troy : Well, it's a good thing I'm totally desensitized to wading through crud of any thickn- oh EW! Where the hell does he get his fertilizer...

Troy found himself back on a dirt road with buildings in the distance. He stared off into space, sulking as he trudged forward.

Troy : This is not one thing I want to stay on my resume...

Kirbynite stretched his arms out after securing his yellow backpack. He did not think he would need it, but you never know, right?

The pink Dreamlander pushed through the front door of the house and walked around to the back of the building. It was there that he noticed a figure walking through the brushes.

Kirbynite: Ugh, there really is someone... Hey! Are you one of the island's robots, or just some lost soul?

Troy plowed straight out of the bushes, finally coming face-to-face with Kirbynite, not more than 10 feet in front of him. He was now covered with bruises, scratches, mud, water, dirt, and leaves/barbs from every single plant that he could have possibly ran through.

Troy : ........uh....... hey.

Time ground to a halt and the entire scene turned monochrome. A chibified Ultimanium sat on a tree branch behind him, with a traffic light hanging from it.

Ultimanium : Now Troy has managed to establish contact with the Paragon candidate. However, he has run into some... distractions along the way and his confidence and appearance have clearly diminished, taking away his bargaining power. The way I see it, he has three choices.

The traffic light turned green.

Ultimanium : Plan A: He could tell the truth about his entire situation, and ask Kirbynite to come with him to wherever his superiors are, because THEY need his help. Hey, I'm not here to argue the validity of this, I just read my lines.

Everything resumed. Troy took a deep breath.

Troy : ...I know this seems totally random, and I normally wouldn't barge onto your... property... unless it was an emergency, but I came here to tell you that my friends and superiors... I'm sure you remember Keele at least... well, I've been telling them about some of the people I've met on this world, and they've given you a cordial invitation to meet with them in their home dimension. Seems they wanna know more about you...

Troy turned and looked over his shoulder, seeing straight down the path of destruction behind him.

Troy : ...er, it's not that bad, I had to take a shortcut through a rice field, but, um...
