I have looked everywhere for the opening sequence after you get out of the truck(the one where you are shown into the house) but I have had absolutely no luck. I'm starting to think that, as usual, it's something simple I overlooked from the start. So far I have been reduced to chopping out every visible script in Littleroot that might have feasibly had it.

Simply put, I need directions as to how to open the script that plays directly after the main character exits the truck. Either you can tell me where I can find it(if it's on another level or something), or give me an offset for Rubikon. At this point I would be very grateful because of the headache I have gained over this most likely simple matter.

Alternatively, you can watch me go insane in the background and laugh because it probably is something I missed.

(Seriously, I always miss simple things. It's like my brain is cursed.)

Note: I have searched as far as I could into the archives for an answer, but dialup started exhibiting signs of cancer. It probably wouldn't hurt to have an answer here anyway for others who want to hack Pokemon correctly. (Tch, yeah right.)

(And I am terribly sorry if this is answered somewhere.)

It's the level script that causes it. You can get to it from Elite Map using the level script button. I also made a patch for removing it, but it might be buggy so use at your own risk.

Level script? I looked there. From what I understand of the disassemblies(which is probably wrong), all I got is something that points back to itself. I think.

This is the best I can do for you, use my patch and look at the changes that it made... because for some reason I can't remember how I knew to write 00's to the area to disable it.

Bah I will have a look at it too, maybe I can find something.

mm... I dunno. I heard somewhere that messing with level data at all can seriously mess up the game, and I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. (Which, considering the scipt's apparent location... Might be incredibly difficult. Oh boy do I love taking on impossible tasks.)

Also, you said your patch is kinda buggy. What kind of problems should I expect? (If you have a readme with these warnings in there... sorry. But with dialup I'd like to download as little as possible.)

Im on dial-up too.
The only bug you can really expect is the guy who says "you can't go out without a pokemon" is invisible. At least thats the only one I have ever come across.

Back-up your rom and try it, it can't hurt.

That's all? I was gonna remove and replace him anyway. I guess you 0'd out just enough to remove his physical prescense in the level. o_o

Thanks. I'll tell ya how it works out.

EDIT: Alright, figured out my problem. Although the patch helped out, my problem lies in in what appears to be an EliteMap glitch(although I may have found a solution). For some reason, I cannot change ANY character's starting
position. The script is removed using the patch, but using my old version, I realised I can't change character starting point.

I may have a bit of a solution though, but I need to know one detail. What bank and level is the truck room on? Also, are there supposed to be two sprite points for the character's mothers? I remember noticing that there was only one located at Brandon's house's door rather than both of them. And as for the truck, I figure the exit pointers there are part of my problem.

EDIT 2: Nevermind, I found the truck. I'm on the case.

EDIT 3: Okay, I give up. I'll have to change the starting level manually. Is there a particular line of hex I should look at to change the truck to, say... Littleroot? I can probably figure the rest out from there.
