Let's start with an example from me:

Our room recieves LagunaBroadcastingNetwork (or as I call it, LagNet -- the old SSID, aparrently someone realized how dumb of a name it was). It's free, but doesn't work in the lobby. It also habitually disconnects and requires a re-login with "free" / "free" (which doesn't work half the time), and gets abysmal speeds (average: 600-3000bytes/sec)...

The lobby occasinally recieves wifi from the coffee shop across the street. It's fast, works, but the signal is usually low if it works at all... but it's free, too, and doesn't require a login.

Capri Laguna (the hotel) has Wi-Fi. It's generally not available in our room, and works near the lobby only. It's $7.95/day.

Does anyone else see the total stupidity in charging eight dollars for internet access, ESPECIALLY when LagNet offers a full month of it (that works almost everywhere) for $15?

I mean, I've seen dumb, but this...

Thats justas bad as my vacation to Deep creek lake Maryland. I got free wi fi from the hotel. The wifi signal was terrible and it was always low. It would always lose the signal or retsart. And for some reason, my moms laptop worked fine with the wifi from the hotel room.

In Japan, the internet in the hotels is pretty fast enough and free...but not here in America, even the not wi-fi internet I see that you have had to pay for, before! It's super dumb...and the coffee shop has FREE wi-fi, that is even more dumb...THEY have the right idea you know.

Which is like how Japan implemented fiberoptic lines with little problem, yet telcos here want even more money and have even ripped the government off for it...

All the hotels I've gone to have free wifi, but for some reason still require a login through their web site, which makes it impossible to use a Nintendo DS on it.
