Long story short, we dated for a couple of months but we pretty much had a consentual breakup before I started college. It was not a big thing overall when it happened, it was just over, or so I thought.

A week or so after, she started saying obscene things over MSN to me for no apparent reason. I won't repeat any of them, but they are quite disturbing and inflammatory for me. Naturally, I blocked her and moved on with my life. It was not a big deal until today.

Today she found a way to contact me another way and sent a long list of disgusting and pathetic messages at 2 in the morning. She doesn't drink or do drugs, so it wasn't that. I think she has something against me for no reason that I know of.

The question is... what do I do about her? I sent her a message saying that I'd rather not speak to her again, I was polite and patient about it, but really, she seems intent on harassing me. I have a parent that works at Wal-Mart, out in the open... and she could easily tell them lies that would cause me a lot of trouble. I really have no idea where to start. Thanks for any help.

The best thing to do for now would be to ignore her, see if she goes away.
In the meantime, if you're really concerned about her approaching your parents, tell them what's going on, and not to listen to anything she says.

Hopefully the situation will resolve itself. If not, and she starts to go overboard, inform the police about her behavior and let them deal with it, or at least contact a relative or friend of hers and explain what's happening with her.

Sounds like she still wants you but instead of outright saying it wants you to come back to her.

If you're concerned she'll talk to your parents, perhaps you could tell them first? Except, you could tell them the truth, and that she's going to lie if she does approach them about it.

About her, just try to ignore her and see if she stops calling you or whatever. She'll eventually move on.

I'd agree with the "she still wants you" part. I'm not gonna take a guess as to how that translates into this kind of behavior, though.

Just ignore her. Keep blocking her. If there's anybody you know that she might want to harass, make sure they are informed that she is batshit crazy.

What part of "disturbing" didn't you understand? She's apparently having some problems and thinks it is a good idea to take it out on me for her shortcomings. Has nothing to do with "wanting" me, really. I didn't really need an assessment of the situation, I'm really looking for ideas of how to deal with her. Spammy posts do not equal help.

IMO, knowing why is just as important as knowing what.

I still suggest cutting her out either way, though.

Vyper, I'm not sure I buy that answer. It's too... simple.

Sorry, but she may still have feelings for you, but feel that she was unfairly rejected in the past for god-knows-what reasons as well. This might result in some fairly conflicted feelings on her part, making her act a liiiiiitle nutso.

I know, because I've been in a "relationship" or whatever it was of sorts and I found myself getting insulting afterwards towards him... meant mostly as a joke I think, but I think I was a bit harsh and/or relentless.

Course, I could be wrong, but I'm just speaking from my own personal experiences of being well.... crazy... in love but feeling hurt.

You need to stop assuming that girls do things out of some kind of "game". It's really, really offensive. Just because you have met some girls that might act that way, doesn't mean that all girls think it's fun to "toy" with a man's emotions.

I personally try not to do so. My problem is that I'm not good with my own emotions, let alone another person's.

Might I add there is a big difference between a girl and a woman.

EDIT: I'm talking mental maturity level, here.

There are girls out there who are nothing like you're implying. So whether you were saying girls or women really doesn't matter. You were still making a rude statement based on a stereotype you think exists. :x

Maybe I would sound a bit too aggresive when I say this, but if ignoring her dosen't help then call the police. Then it depends on your countries laws.

In Sweden, this is counted as harassment if you keep doing it. Don't expect her to get arrested or anything, more likely to get a warning first or something depending on the laws. :/

Yeah, I figure if it were to continue, Ailure has the idea, that for her to get a warning from police would end this real quick. As for now, I'm just talking to the people I know and warning them about what she might say to them. Anyway, I don't think this is a game. Because I'm not playing it. From the information I've gathered, she's really bitter about me moving on and her not, and I think she's trying to bother friends I have who live close to her. Bargh.

For the record, stereotypes fail, Vyper, and so do people who use them, especially those generalized statements which are not even accurate for most of a group of people.

Honestly, I have yet to meet a girl in my entire life that hasn't enjoyed fucking with my head.

Women? Yeah, I've met a few of them who are above games, so that's cool.

Sorry for being stereotypical, I'm just speaking from personal experience. Didn't mean to offend anyone.
