Eh. It's cool, but it's not even what I'd call awesome, let alone incredibly awesome or incredibly incredibly awesome. What's it from/who made it?

Listen to it with Acmlm's miditowav plugin (Winamp) and then consider it

It's from Guardian of Paradise, a little freeware Zelda clone AGTP translated a while ago. (note that it's actually quite different from any of the Zelda games, but it still involves a hero that slashes swords)

Holy SHIT. I get it now.

I don't get how to choose Acmlm's plugin over the default one, so I'm just moving the original one in and out of the folder to choose, though. I fail at Winamp.

Also, blech at Guardian of Paradise. Switching different but similar abilities for the same element, uninteresting first boss, too many block puzzles, wildly bouncing enemies, and just weird stuff in general. What's to keep one playing it?

That's what I do, but I must say I never change back to the normal one

GoP has a lot of different abilities later and some slightly more interesting puzzles, but it's really linear and short. Just give it a shot :/

It's good, but I've heard better. (Track 3.) Now THAT is the best song ever written.

Not the MIDI of Kirby 64's final battle I got from VGmusic. It's sounds about 5 billion times better without it.

There's obviously going to be a few exceptions (those MIDI's were made for normal MIDI sound, after all), but not much can beat miditowav for making NES/GameBoy songs (even remixes and such) sound closer to the original, for example

That's what I used to do too, until I realized I could simply disable the default one by changing its file associations in the preferences ... not like I do it often either, other than for comparing between them

Crappy ones, maybe. I've been testing around, and it feels like the best MIDIs are the ones that just suck in miditowav.

Timidity can do even better if you load a huge soundfont, but it can be a hassle to use. I'll pause my Bach to give it a try, though.
