It's a very good idea actually. I really like it.

Here are some ideas:
About the overworld, you could use screenshots of the forum for it.
(and make the lost threads the secret world XD)

the FAQ world I guess it should have a "forum" theme, becouse it's the first world and that would make the players get the concept.

the announcements world... I don't know... maybe a palace or castle or something...

General chat would be "real world" places. mountains, the train level, a town...

Approval request would be a place with loads of fire and lava and a lot of weapons and battleships (bill bullets, smb3 tanks/airships)

Rom hacking would be a very variated world... it would be inspired in lots of different games. This should be the world with more levels too.

SMW hacking would be like an upgraded smw. With better graphics and level desing.

Pokemon hacking... use the pokemon world... << >>

Crazyness Domain... think about the most random things you can and put them here XD

Programming... a virtual world or something...

The Pit of Despair would be a graveyard, filled with the spirits of the banned users wandering arround.

The display case... I just don't know... maybe a temple like wario land 4 golden passage?

Mystery forum... it depends, if you want something more like a final zone, then either put again the forum or a night or space and stars thing... if you want a lost threads II put the most random and weird things ever, glitches... and twinckle star wandering around XD

note that you can add variety inside the worlds too, for example in Aproval request after the fire and guns level there could be an ice level inside a machine, or even a garden or a more calm level...

Again... refer to the overworld map. The smilies are what mark the levels, meaning that they are only just levels. There are only six forums that go deeper than being a single level, and those are the ones marked 'new'.

Progress: I vow to do something each day that will benefit this project, but I didn't do much yesterday. I updated the train ExGFX. I'll actually work on this later. Right now, I'm woking on 'FAQ', which will pretty much be a step by step guide to playing the game, a "training room" if you will.

I just got back from the homecoming football game, and decided I would update. I have finished 3 unique levels that I'm pretty proud of. The FAQ level is a vigourous test level (it isn't timed, because I'm not smart enough to do that). The second one is the afore mentioned Train level which is pretty spiffy, but still needs a little work, and the third is what appears to be a courtyard for one of bowser's castles.

EDIT: Each one still needs work, however, because they don't meet the requirements to be based off of ACMLM's Board.

I will change the GFX in some cases for different sprites to realte to things here at the board, but I'm going to take Icegoom's idea and redraw every sprite. Here's what I've come up with so far:

Those all look great except for the piranha plant looks weird, and the bob-omb has too thick an outline. Otherwise, they look just fine.

Do you want to use it on every Level? If Yes, then it will not Suit well with the Hack. Because you say ACMLM Adventure and not SMW Adventure.
So, It only suits in SMW Hacking.

Those look pretty good to me. Thwomp, the springboard, and the blocks look particularly good. The only thing that looks a bit off to me is the Spiny. I think you tried to cram too many spikes into too small a space.

I wish you luck changing everything. It ends up being a bigger job than you think it is at first.

Your sprites doesn't fit Acmlm adventure theme very well.
for example, changing a sprite to "OFF"this sucks
You may use these sprites if you can't find better ones

This is just a side project. The sprites are temporary and I will most likely use them in another hack. I'm just tired of looking at the old sprites while I work on levels. I will, however, create new ACMLM based graphics once I've got my levels done and I've figured out what I want them to be.

Nice sprite redraws. I think the goomba looks a little weird without pupils, but that might just be me. As for ACMLM Adventure, I think the overworld sprite for mario should be replaced with a mouse cursor. That would fit with your current overworld idea.

I think the ground tuned out allright, but I still think it needs work.

The sprites and FG I'm working on, shown in an earlier post, won't be implemented until later.

You should have seen it before. I was going to make them blue and use it as an Ice cave. It was terrible.

I read this as "cake level". I thought the FG was supposed to look like those frosting swirls on some chocolate cakes.
It does look like a good cave, though. Only issue is the FG appears to be mostly dirt which doesn't look great against a mostly rock background.
