And witness me trying to respond to everyone:
Originally posted by GGS Cruel Justice Originally posted by GGS Cruel Justice Don't worry, I don't plan to include any Oompa-Loompas... yet. Also, I've been working on JAMH off and on for about 3 years now. I'd show some before and after shots... but most of them have been consigned to the Recycle Bin. I'll have to test that background idea out and see if it works. Originally posted by LocalHSure, I can do that next time I post screenshots. I personally prefer taking screenshots without filters, but long ago everyone kept bugging me to do it WITH the filters that I finally gave in. I agree with the second part, it's gotten to the point where I will not play unless I have some filter running. I'm just used to it, I guess. Originally posted by TrinityThe general consensus around the time I announced my plans for the whole "darker world" thing was that the idea was totally cliche and it sucked. I still have plans for a similiar "Whoops, looks like things aren't so cheery after all" plot turn somewhere down the line in the hack, but it won't be nearly as drastic as all that. About level progress.... well, I'm still working on the cake sets, which I want moderately finished before I start heavy level design. Originally posted by SpadeThe name originally started as a joke to poke fun at everyone who was taking their hack titles way more seriously than the actual hack. Now it's sorta like an ironic moniker. The whole world will not be candy themed, the second world has a cake theme. I'm not certain where to go from there just yet, but we'll see. Originally posted by asdfYeah, my font ain't perfect, but I prefer it to the original. It's not too terribly difficult to change the font, really, the only hard part is tracking down all those wayward tiles for the title screen. Yeesh. Nintendo didn't do a good job organizing some of their graphics. Originally posted by mikepjrUnfortunately, the only demo is the one posted a couple posts ago by andres. And it's super outdated at this point. What do you guys think, should I re-release the demo with all the changes I've made since then? Keep in mind, I wouldn't be releasing any new levels. Originally posted by Smallhacker*cocks shotgun* The pun is like 2 years old now, man. Originally posted by XerussI hope to set a good example, really. I'm not an artist by any means, JAMH is mainly hard work and perserverance. Want proof? Try to find some of my old old screenshots and you'll see what I mean. Originally posted by xxshaynee2xxMainly my graphics look so good because barely anyone has made a serious attempt at a complete custom graphics overhaul for SMW. And even I am leaving some things alone. Originally posted by KailieannShould I just ditch the filters for screenshots entirely? I typically use HQ2X to take screenshots, mainly because there is no blurring effect. All it does, from what I understand, is smooth the borders between colors. Look at the stripes on the candycanes, for instance. Originally posted by SoNotNormalHmm, everyone wants a demo. I'll see what I can do, maybe. Not enough people put serious work into editting the title screen, I think. Mine is actually not THAT great, I plan to revamp it at a later time. I had plans once to make the opening demo a sorta prelude into the story, we'll see how that goes once I work out more of the story details. Originally posted by ChrisYeah, exactly. This isn't something I threw together in a month, like some less noteworthy hacks. I've been working on it on and off for a couple years now. Granted, it's more off than on, but still, that's a lot of time to devote to a hack. Originally posted by fart-face jonesWe'll see. If enough people are fine with a demo that's basically the same gameplay as the last demo, I'll release one. I'll get to the rest later, oy. This is a lot of typing for lil 'ol JJ. That 2nd and 7th pic reminds of one of those Mario Party levels. This is awsome! It's great to see some original GFX's now and then. You inspired me to make some originals for my upcoming hack. I played this demo before with the one way arrows and such but i ran out of time often because I couldn't get out of the maze. I would love to see another updated GFX demo of this. | |||

Sweet levels!! (Literally) Hope to see a demo soon. Very unique I have to say! Yeah I love that pipe maze in SMB3 World 7 so that new one definitely looks exciting. I think it's level 8 or 9... Anyway, keep up the great work!! |
