Recently, my hard drive crashed and I lost every single file, including my many sets of ROMs, Save States, and Save Files.

I've already replaced most of the ROMs, but the Save States and Save Files are gone forever.

I was wondering if someone could upload a ZIP file with all of their SNES srm files. I'd deeply and greatly appreciate it.

Sorry if this is not in the right forum, I'm too sad to think correctly.

zophar.net - It's dead, but it's still a nice way to get save game files.

Oddly enough, that probably is the best thing for it. I don't know of too many SRM archives.

Thanks alot, Zophar's perfect.

You wouldn't, by any chance, know where to get GBA saves? Zophar doesn't have a complete set.

Thanks in Advance (pun semi intended)

Zophar is probably going to be your only sure bet on game saves. There aren't many, if any, other sites that handle that medium.

ZD is still the best place for MANY types of files even if the site could die at any moment.

Best thing to do for GBA saves is to do a Google search and narrow it down with the name of the game(s) in question.

You make me wonder weather I should/could mirror Zophar.... with my tempting gigabytes upon gigabytes of unused space (I have 95GB unused in /home; and still some ~80GB of unpartitioned space)

Yeah, those saves on GFAQS are for gamesharks that can copy the RAM that the game stores for a save game and store on the gameshark itself. The SRM files that are created by ROMs, while basically the same thing, require the ROM, not a gameshark thing, and therefore, indirectly, can't be hosted because of the copyright issues of ROMs.

Usually the Gameshark or whatever save file is just the SRM file with a header attatched to identify the game. Many emulators even allow them to be imported and exported.

Fortunately, I found an old 1 GB flash drive that had most of my Roms, Rom Hacks, Saves, etc. stored on it.

Since my problem is solved, could a Mod or Admin lock this, please?
