MEL: Getter Homing Missile!

All three Get-Machines split only moments after the Melvin Robo G had performed Open Get. The three planes moved independently of one another, branching off as they traveled towards Building B.

Out of the undersides of each Get-Machine dropped a pair of rounded cylinders that fell harmlessly for several seconds as the Get-Machines and the ZIG following them passed by, then lit up as their boosters engaged and proceeded to pursue the ZIG and it's pods.

"Heh, thanks." As Snieps placed the last of the emitters in an out-of-the-way spot, the emitters glowed softly for a few seconds, before becoming invisible. Meanwhile, it seemed that about fifty Snipes had appeared in the room. they all moved independently of each other, and were all solid to the touch. Which meant they coudl throw a mean punch, or even use their guns.

"Can you guess which one of us is the real one?" They all chorused, before they all stepped forwards in random sequence, saying "Not me."

Grey: "A Challenger Appears!"

There was a wailing rush of engine noise, like the firing of a set of retro rockets, as a giant golden lobster descended from the skies and crashed heavily into the pavement of the quickly-approaching-devastation megalopolis. Its claws shone in the sunlight as it swung its mighty limbs forward, opening the pincers with a grinding 'shink' noise.

"Let's see if I can remember.... Stubborn Mode: Lock!!!"

The claws opened a few feet wider, and a myriad of panels slid and split across the cobalt crustacean's plated armor. The heads of various rocket-propelled projectiles poked slightly outward as a quick cockpit shot showed Grey furiously pulling levers and flipping numerous switches along an extensive panel of controls.

"Heavy Lobster Mark III, Stubborn Missile Projectile Interception System Armed And Ready To..."

The lobster mech that the dubious wannabe was clearly piloting took a few steps back, and arced its back in preparation for the incoming command. From the cockpit, a net of targeting reticules appeared in front of Grey's face in a massive viewscreen, the targets of which were quickly divided amongst the six pursuing rockets, now quickly closing in on the ZIG-class fighter that flashed across the skies. Grey narrowed his eyes, and slammed his fist down on an obviously important button...

"FIRE!!!"

There was an explosion of smoke from each of the panels and the claws of the giant enemy crab, as a salvo of missiles quickly stretched across the skies, each one zipping through the air at one of the Get Machines' fast, but not quite fast enough missiles. No less than twenty projectiles sailed through the skies, some colliding with each other in a frenzied attempt to destroy their targets. A spreadfire of explosions covered the skies in smoke and dust, and soon everything in a five mile radius was covered in smoke from a hundred feet upward. Out of the cloud raced an unharmed ZIG fighter, and as the smoke cleared, so too was the wild blue.

Heavy Lobster sank back into a fighting stance, and Grey turned on his intercom, patching into the other mech's transmissions.

"Okay, Kirb... That's about all I can find in the archives. You damn well better teach me how to use this thing!"

The lobster-bot pointed at Kirby Robo as he said this, and then spread its arms outward, swiveling its claws back into position as the panels closed and the mech prepared to fight.

"You see? This is what happens when you don't pay attention to what's going on on the Internet!"

Quint.EXE: Yes, the Internet is serious business.

----------

Meanwhile...

If JDavis Robo had the ability to mimic JDavis's facial expressions, it would have a dull look on its face. Before the holo-Snipes can finish their "not me" routine, JDavis Robo points to the real Snipes.

JDavis: You're the real one. This robot utilizes a plethora of technology not otherwise found on Earth. You may be able to fool a human or a reploid with that stuff, but you can't fool my sensors. Whether or not you'll be able to fool Melvin, I can't say, but sense your holograms are the solid kind, it hopefully won't matter.

cut short by Jdavis Robo's correct guess, the real Snipes didn't flinch... too much.

"Maybe, but as it is I don't need ot be here for my clones to do what they need to. they're almost completely autonomous, except that their orders come from me alone. Unless of course, said orders are a way to accomplish mine, such as co-ordinating an attack or whatever. I could be otu cold for all they care, and they woudl still be able to fight." As Snieps finsihed up, all the clones voiced heir agreements, somewhat out of time with each other.

As the JDavis Robo and numerous clones of Snipes chatted, nobody seemed to notice a large red object outside the window steadily growing larger.

In the elevator outside, Double and Iris stood in the car as it clambered up towards the 60th floor of Building C. The car stopped, there was the resounding "bing-boong" -- And then Double planted a hand on Iris' head and pushed her to the ground, just in time for the red Get-Machine to clip off the entire top half of the elevator.

Moments later, Iris slowly raised up her head, her beret askew.

IRIS: Mou... Y-you can get off of me now, Double-kun.. ._.

--

As the Get-Machine pierced the window, out it's open front cockpit dove Mel, who action rolled on the floor and skidded to a stop on his feet. Standing, he nonchalantly walked to the broken cylinder of laboratory safety glass in front of him, and plucked the Q-Part from where it sat. From under one arm he brought out the three other stolen Q-Parts, assembled to form half of a five-sided star. He set the new addition to his collection next to the other three Q-Parts, and it clicked softly into place, it's blue glow synchronizing with that of the other three. He did not even seem to notice, nor care, about the collection of Snipes standing around him.

From within the AF's Robo Mechs, Grey's voice rang out over the intercom.

Grey: "Uh.... Guys? Did he just completely disregard the fact that he's in the midst of an epic giant robot fight and accomplish his goal regardless of our interference? 'Cause if he did, that's really a drag."

JDavis Robo turned towards Melvin with a fighting stance, and the camera did a quick cut to inside of it.

JDavis: Melvin, you-!

Before JDavis could finish the sentence, an alarm started going off, and the screens in front of him were flashing something in red, but we are not shown a camera angle where we can see what they say.

JDavis: What!? Well, in that case, there's no need for me to hold back!

And with that, JDavis Robo lunged forward at Melvin, forming the energy sword as it did.

A steel cylinder dropped out of Mel's sleeve into his hand. He took hold of it, and a solid green beam burst forth. He swung his arm up and to the side, merely pushing JDavis' energy blade aside, basically deflecting the blow.

Settling his arm to one side, his own energy blade still ignited, the Q-Parts assembled under his arm began to beat softly.

MEL: These Q-Parts tell me you have the last of their brethren.

The Q-Part settled inside JDavis' pocket began to resonate and beat faintly in the exact same way, pulsing a soft blue in tune with it's four identical copies under Mel's arm.

MEL: I won't ask you more than once to give it to me.

A vidscreen with an irate Kirbynite's face appeared before Grey.

Kirbynite: It doesn't matter, Grey! Just keep trying to disable those things!

The screen disappeared as the pink Dreamlander turned off communications again.

Kirbynite: Rock, how's it going?

Megaman.EXE: It's getting tougher, Kirby, but I think might be reaching the autopilot algorithms.

Kirbynite: Good. I'll send you some more chips in a bit..

As Megaman.EXE exited a data transfer stream, he passed a set of strangely unguarded gates to stumble upon a circular room about three stories tall, and with only one exit, the one he had just came in through. And at it's center was a massive black tower with glowing red lines running up it - obviously, the main autopilot algorithms.

It was as the Navi was looking over the massive structure that contained the sensitive autopilot code, that a circular blast of wind nearly swept him off his feet. He squinted his eyes through the wind to see a figure drop from the highest level to the ground.

A skinny, tall Navi wearing a green and white jumpsuit, with green goggles on his forehead, brown hair that angled in spikes pointing to the back of his head, and most notably - a pair of giant white wings floating around his wrists, stood to his feet to confront Megaman.EXE, clapping slowly.

SCHNEIDER.EXE: So you've found the main autopilot algorithms. Bravo.

The twin rings around his wrists began to spin at an impressive speed, glowing a bright green color as theyir speed increased. Schneider.EXE stepped into a fighting stance, both fists put up on guard.

SCHNEIDER.EXE: But you won't be leaving, so we'll cut to the chase. Prepare yourself!

Kirbynite: That voice... it sounds.. Schneider? Since when did you become a Net Navi?

Megaman.EXE: I don't think that's important right now...

Kirbynite: Rock, don't start fighting! Just try to talk some sense into him.

Megaman.EXE: You're kidding, right?

Kirbynite: I'm dead serious. C'mon, you know me.

Megaman.EXE: Eh..

Megaman.EXE looked at Schneider.EXE. He slowly put his arms down instead of keeping up a fighting stance.

Megaman.EXE: Schneider! Why are you allowing Melvin to do this? Shouldn't you make sure you keep your operator on a tight leash, especially when his evil allergies start kicking?

JDavis: Shit!

JDavis Robo quickly turned away from Melvin, and ran toward the nearest wall. Instead of colliding with the wall, the shrunken giant robot phased through the solid matter. When it reached the outside of the building, the boosters in its feet flared up, sending the robot flying upwards into the sky.

Inside the robot's cockpit, JDavis was frantically typing on his floating, transparent keyboard.

JDavis: Come on, got to open an ES Window... There!

Something resembling like a purplish hole in the air appeared directly in JDavis Robo's path, and after the robot entered it, it began to shrink...

Mel held the semi-assembled Q-Parts in both hands, staring at the stone pieces as they pulsed quietly.

He looked around. The room was filled with clones of Snipes, and yet not a single one had moved -- they were all in Offline Trances. He shook his head, and broke into a brisk run. Showing his palm to the same wall the JDavis Robo had phased throw, he shot a hole clean through it with a sharp green beam. Leaping out into the sky, he spun around twice before the twin boosters in his boots ignited, propelling him up into the open ES-Window moments before it finally subsided.

When Melvin emerged on the other side, he found... nothing. No planet, no stars, no atmosphere.... No JDavis Robo. The only source of light was the glow of the Q-Parts.

Somewhere in front of him, Melvin heard JDavis's voice.

JDavis: Welcome to subspace.

In the infinite nothingness of subspace, there was a click, followed by the shuffling of fabric and material, accompanied by an expanding noise, something similar to a mattress inflating.

Mel plucked a cylindrical helmet with a clear visor out of his pocket -- undoubtedly leading to a self-contained pocket of Hammerspace -- and dropped it over his head backwards, twisting it and sealing it tight as the clear visor turned to allow him a field of vision.

MEL: Mere parlor tricks.

Mel's glasses began to glow a bright green, as he held out a long, bronze-colored rifle, with two finned rings along the barrel that were already beginning to spin.

Pulling the trigger in all the way, the Castor Rifle's hammer dropped onto the firing pin of a Number Two shell, unleashing a sealed well of magic energy that hurtled towards the JDavis Robo in an uncontrolled red beam.

Melvin's Castor Shell easily tore apart the speaker which JDavis's voice had emanated from.

Somewhere to the left, JDavis's voice was heard once again.

JDavis: That was quite impressive.

Then, to the right...

JDavis: Too bad I'm not actually over there.

Behind...

JDavis: I don't know what it is that you need these Q-Parts for...

Above...

JDavis: But seeing as you felt it necessary to attack us in order to obtain them...

Below...

JDavis: I'm certainly not going to make it easy for you.

On cue, the green glow in Mel's glasses faded -- and moments later, they re-illuminated, now a bright blue as he tugged on a lever to the side of the Castor Rifle in his hand. He removed a smoking, empty red shell and dropped a new one into the waiting catch, then pushed the end shut.

In his field of vision, everything was blue... save for flickering white lines, that denoted the presence of the minute electromagnetic fields generated by electricity flowing through the speaker wires.

MEL: Whether or not you make it easy for me, the fact of the matter is, I will leave this pocket of subspace with the Pas-Q Machine, and you will not.

Firing his rifle again, Mel swiveled around as a second massive orange beam poured from the barrel, arcing it and overtaking several of the scattered speakers in the flow of energy.

One of the remaining speakers once again relayed JDavis's voice.

JDavis: Subspace doesn't come in pockets, Melvin. Get it together, will ya? TEN-LINKED ENERGY CANNONS!

Suddenly, two large beams of concentrated blue energy were fired at Melvin from less than a foot behind him. The source was not visible, but they seemed to be emitting from a single point.

Both blue beams collided with a solid green barrier that flashed in and out of existence in a brief second -- in an effect similar to that of a Pinpoint Barrier.

Mel quickly plowed through the barrier, his foot-boosters flaring, that same "rock out" gesture on his left hand as he pointed it at the source of the twin beams, immediately lighting up the area with a bright green beam of energy as a green, glowing G shone on his forehead.
