And yet if Michigan had played (and won) this weekend... Different story possibly.

First thing's first, USC is burning to the ground. That's right, I'm going to buy a ticket from London to Lala land and burn that SOB down. You gotta be kidding me, they beat us then blow it all against UCLA, ugh, it disgusts me. (Twice as much because I live 15 minutes from the Cal Bears stadium and have what could mildly be described as an unhealthy level of animosity towards all the Pac-10 teams to the south of us (those being Standford, USC, and UCLA. The AZ teams don't really count, they're just kinda there, nothing more nothin less)). AHHHHHH

Moving on, if Michigan's season hadn't finished two weeks ago there probably wouldn't even be a discussion. I personally want to see Michigan in the title game so I can relish in the fact that they will have just as many losses as ND will have at the end of the season (Yeah, my schadenfreude is in full force these days). Judging by how the voting's gone Fla will probably get in, but there's always hope. And I'm looking forward to a BCS for ND because, well, we're ND and we get the red carpet treatment. Not sure who, but the Sugar Bowl would be nice.

And back off topic, LT is rediculous, 26 TDs so far in the season, damn.

So let's see...

Fiesta Bowl:
It's great that Boise State gets into the BCS, but I think they'll get mauled by Oklahoma.

Orange Bowl:
And there goes Louisville's chance to play a major power and prove that they (and the Big East) are for real.

Sugar Bowl:
Notre Dame doesn't really deserve to be in a BCS bowl, but it might be a good game.

Rose Bowl:
Probably the best match-up out of all the BCS bowls.

Championship:
I can't see Florida doing too well, but I am a little biased.

BTW, the BCS Show was pretty poorly done. Shoddy sound, too many commercials. Hopefully this won't be indicative of their bowl game coverage.

I really think that OSU/Michigan would have been a hell of a rematch... oh well. The voters/computers have spoken. USC/Michigan will be fun.

Notre Dame met the criteria so they're in, and the two losses were to BCS opposition... harsh losses, mind you, but still.

And Boston College faces... Navy! In the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Now, now. We all know they only got in because it is a popularity contest PLUS Wisconsin and Auburn cannot receive BCS game bids because of a bad rule. They are clearly not as qualified as either of those teams (They beat nobody, their competition consisted of the Commander-in-Chief's trophy competitors.)

Well, if the rule wasn't in there then you'd have a valid point. I don't like the "2 BCS bids to a conference" stuff either because you could theoretically have a top team playing in a crappy bowl. (They'll probably play on the 1st but still.)

But let's be honest; you want to make as much money as possible off these games. Notre Dame's going to draw more than Wisconsin or Auburn. :\

You're right, but if not for those two getting denied bids, Notre Dame would not be an option (they only automatically qualify if they're ranked 8 or above, I think, and right now they're #11 with 10 possible BCS spots). I think both of those teams are better than Notre Dame is at this point, and I'd rather see Wisconsin or Auburn in their spot. Eh, I'm just hoping it turns out to be a good game against LSU.

ND could be chosen with at least 9 (so I read, but 10 sounds more appropriate) wins and by being ranked #12 or higher in the BCS standings.

They did both. :\

And Florida got in over Mich because Urban whinned like a baby and Carr didn't (Did I just complement someone from Mich, ugh) (I just pray to God that this doesn't set a precedent for future coaches to be so low, it'd get more annoying that listening to everyone (Urban) complaining about the BCS system). Anyways, I'm not complaining and I can't think of any team that's really getting hosed by us getting into a bowl, and all of the commentators I've listened to have said the same thing, ND getting in isn't shafting anyone else, and it's gonna be a good match up.

I do think that Tressel took the cheap way out by not voting. If you're number one from the beginning of the season your vote is techincally determining who you're playing in the championship from day one so be a man and vote in the final vote. I know it would be bad for his team/good for the opposing team if say he had voted Mich over Fla then Urban could boost his team's morale by telling them that Ohio State was afraid to play them (though I don't think that would really do much because Ohio State is going to stomp Fla). I think the Rose Bowl should be one helluva game, in line with the old days when it was ALWAYS Pac-10 v. Big-10.

It's Heisman time.

Man, ESPN really thinks Troy Smith is going to win. I don't really disagree, but shouldn't they be more impartial?

Wasn't that a lock? I mean, it's not like there was too much intrigue as to who was going to win... more intrigue for the actual bowls than this.

Nobody was surprised at the winner, but it was odd how Quinn didn't even get 2nd place; most people were already counting out anyone besides those two to win. McFadden did have a better year in my opinion, though. He's going to be a beast in the future.

I like Troy Smith, he's very humble, and he almost has the same kind of facial hair as me. I guess I'm a Brady Quinn guy because of my Charlie Weis/New England connection, but I'm glad Smith won it.

He's really grown up in even just the past two years. It's great to see, and a great story.

Some things of note:
-Highest percentage of 1st place votes ever/
-2nd largest margin of victory (O.J. Simpson)
-3rd highest point total (O.J. Simpson, Reggie Bush)
-Ohio State is now tied with Notre Dame and USC for most Heisman trophies (7)
-GO BUCKS!!

But one behind on heisman winners. Still, I tip my hat to Troy, Brady had chances to take the trophy from him by performing big in big games and he didn't this year. Troy was always cool in the pocket, very impressive. I need bowl games to start, I need my college football (though I am finding some quality entertainment going on in the NFL (Saints over Cowboys) and the NBA (Suns over Nets, 300+ points) but still not on the level of cfb).
