I don't know why, but my memory unit won't come out of the port. This model is what I have. -> Using a screwdriver to remove screws was of no use, the stick didn't come apart. I'd rather not break anything as it's manufacturer is gone.

Ah, the infamous VMU sticking. Yea, just happened to me tonight. I went to play some Nintendo ROMs on my DC, and when I went to switch the VMU, it was stuck. Again. For the 20th time.

Just get a good grip on the skinny sides. Pull REALLY hard. I mean REALLY hard. It gets stuck in good I heard because of a safety feature, because if you remove your VMU while playing many auto save games, you will lose your VMU for good or something. I doubt it, but just yank it. You won't break a thing. It's not even possible. Its just two slots it goes into.

Just yank. Hard.

This joystick has only one slot. The card is inside so tight my fingernail can't fit in such a gap! Holding the base upright with both feet and pulling directly on the VMU using both hands had no effect. I'm certain it's due to the poorly designed controller in my case, as no problems never happened on standard Sega pads.

Someone should begin an online DIY repair guide for consoles and accessories, covering more than simply modchip installation which I personally have no interest in. I'd love a "GameRepairWiki".

Edit - *Close this thread*

Pulling did work after I had rested a while. Dry hands put on better grip. It's curious why removing the joystick's screws didn't make it open, but I have no need for that now.

Ok.
You unscrewed it and couldn't get it out?
Hmm...
You even pulled.
All I can suggest is to keep pulling =\
Or, try to find another way in...
