You can often work around it though by just using the + and divide buttons to move ahead or back a byte, or just avoid editing the top left and bottom right pixels.

Are there any mac emulators for windows so we don't need to buy a mac. I kinda figured you would know this since your a major mac fanatic.

PearPC, but it runs slower than molasses in August.

Anyway, it would be easier to follow his suggestion and not edit the top left and bottom right pixels.

I think ill try it anyway, ive got a fast PC (hopefully it will run pear correctly though). If it doesn't work to well then ill probably have to not edit those certain pixels.

What's easier?

- Downloading and configuring PearPC, and acquiring (ahem) and installing Mac OS X on it, which can take upwards of 4 hours, and then getting Tile Molestor to run properly on it, all while dealing with an extraordinarily slow emulation speed, which is virtually unusable no matter what hardware you run it on?
or
- Not editing two pixels.

there's more to it than not editing the topleft and bottomright pixels. You'll also get screwed up colours as you can see in many screenshots you get those yellow and blue bars around things.

Moving ahead one byte doesn't fix that?

Haven't been here in a while. But that last hex update from rstewart was interesting. Could someone find the ID code for Mario, so we could have a Mario head on a Chomp? Or would it glitch up?

Off Topic: Why is there a timer counting down on the top bar of my screen? Is that bad?

Ok, I know I'm a complete n00b at anything even related to hacking, so I wanted to edit up some sm64 textures. I read all the junk in the closed thread, and I need to ask something: where the hell do I get a rom extender. I've tried every link and googled it about 15 times and I can't find one (the rom extenders I've found will not download, but I know its not my computer). I even downloaded Text Wrangler and tried to make that work for about 15 minutes until I realized it was for mac. So please don't show little smilies killing yourselves and such, I just need a link to a rom extender, and I know pretty much every here has one. Please.

thanks, though i have already been there before, you sparked an idea in my head. If anyone here uses "flashget" you'd know why I couldn't download...(beats flashget with steel bat and gives windows downloader a cookie).

Thanks again watcher

Well, there it is. Any suggestions and ideas would be nice. Comments?

For my wonderfull candy land, I made an essencial, but easily made thing. Candy Canes! There are the textures for the bridges. Unfortunatly, the blue and yellow dot bug strikes again. Hope there's a way to fix it.

Surprisingly, this bridge turned out fine:

The candy cane sign....nice.

I must continue my candy making and edit something else to a sweet substance...

Candy canes are usually round. You should try making the bridges look like chocolate bars, and the gates' poles and/or poundable posts look like candy canes.
I must say though, candy land is a surprisingly awesome idea.

I am making a dark mario 64 game. It is like Luigi's mansion. Mario gets a letter in the mail saying that he has won a new castle. When he gets to his castle, he finds Lakitu, where he gives Mario a few rude comments. When Mario enters the castle, he finds that it is actaully Peach's castle, but vandalized by king boo. Mario must retrieve the power stars and beat king boo in this all new adventure! I have changed physics, music, text, textures, and much more! Take a look at some screenies:

Title screen, it needs some work, but a good concept

The castle looks....different... Boo added a few homey touches to the exterior...

and interior...

This picture didn't turn out too great, but I must say it isn't horrible

This Yoshi picture looks very nice, and comes with a description in the room

Another cute Yoshi portrait- which also comes with a description

Most of the people you meet will be rude to you. Just a little humor

This level meets the game description

changed quite a bit

Koopa the Quick

Mario! Trim those hedges!

More eerie than usual...

A humorous "Mario Heaven" Level that could still use some work..

Mario Paradise; with fitting music of course!

Nice view

Woah, that's a really great idea. The "Mario Heaven" looks kinda garish, but other than that, that's a really slick-looking mod.

After many experiments Toad finally invented the mega mushroom. Toad first test subject was Yoshi. The mushroom worked well... too well in fact. Yoshi grew and grew and grew. Now the castle is in danger from his big feet and hunger.

That is just some of the thing you can do with Geometry Layout commands. Imagine the possibilities.

I disassembled Yoshi geometry layout commands and created a list of how his hierarchy looks.

I created a list of geometry layouts.

Good job finding that out! So, what is everything possible we can do with it? I just want to know.

Note: Back to the topic of the candy land hack... about making the bridge chocolate, it cant be a whole bunch of little chocolate bars, it has to be one large one. Why? If I have 2 or more different colors on texture horizontally, they split and move to different positions. Dont ask me why. I've tried to find a way to overpass this little annoyence, but I cant. Either it's one large chocolate bar, or something else altogether. Another bit of bad news, which one of you might be able to help me with, is for some reason when I try to edit the bars caging the chomp star and the same kind in toher areas, they dissapear alltogether, making a see-through invisible structure. Any info on this?
