This is just insane. What is it with Dallas WRs and possible psychosis?

Was it confirmed if he was trying to commit suicide? Last I heard that's what it appeared to be but it wasn't really a proven thing yet.

Well, he was practicing in pads today, so who the hell knows. Gobbling painkillers isn't exactly the most practical method of offing yourself (remember kids, down the street) but it works as an attention-getter. 'Sides, they were there...

We will never really know what happened, but apparently he was OD'ing on a generic vicodin. He was so out of his mind that he supposedly told the paramedics things that weren't true about him trying to harm himself. His idiot publicist even told the public that the police flat out lied in their reports even though she said certain things in the 911 call that will probably be released soon. Personally, I think he got a little messed up on his painkillers and then started thinking about some nasty things going on in his life (his fiance left him and he can't see his kid) that maybe he took a few more... and a few more. He might not be depressed but he does have some odd things going on there in his mind.

I had read somewhere that he had mixed up the bottles for painkillers and supplements. With TO its anybodys guess. It's not like tey need him to beat Tennessee.

The whole "attempted suicide" thing somewhat sickens me, I know, it's TO, anything is possible, but I know lots of people who take excess painkillers as an attempt to get high, or just because the perscribed amount wasn't enough, it goes for all perscription drugs, really. It seems they're usually either abused, or sold 75% of the time, and yes that's a made-up percentage based on the people I've known.

As for football, I'm looking foward to some good things from the panthers, and possibly the redskins. And boo-hoo steelers :'( (quit sucking you guys, For a second I thought we had maddox back in)

What kind of fucking retardedness is this? I love Vince Young, but the dude is just not ready to start NFL games. He needs to hold the clipboard and watch for at least the rest of the season, hell, maybe even this and the next season. He doesn't know how to read a defense yet. Starting him now will just reinforce bad habits, I think.

Yes, he probably does give them a better chance to win than any other QB on their roster, but it's not like they're gonna be winning a lot of games either way. Fact is, the Titans have think about the future now.

Vince Young's first game didn't turn out so well. Same for Leinart (who really is starting next week over Warner), but its to be expected from rookie QBs. Also, was it just me or were there a ton of great games today? Indy vs. Jets and Redskins vs. Jags really kept me into it all day long. Then there were others that I didn't get to see. What a great weekend for football.

Speaking of the Titans, how about Albert Haynesworth? The Niffle apparently doesn't like his idea to clean your cleats on an opposing player's forehead, and now he's out for the next five games. At least he immediately accepted the shame that comes with the territory, saying he sullied the team, football, and his family name.

I seen it earlier on ESPN, but that was before they decided on the suspension time. Reminds me of a player last Friday from our high school got kicked out of a game for stepping on one of the other team's players while he was down.

Back on to the Titan, I seen that interview of him saying how he isn't a dirty player and he regrets doing it and all of that.

What was it, like 30 stitches for the guy who was stepped on?

At least he apologized for it I guess.

Only five games? That seems pretty light for an act that could have easily blinded or even killed the poor guy. If he wasn't so lucky the spike could have gone right into his eye, not his forehead.

Thankfully it didn't. Both of the players are lucky that it didn't.

I wonder what was going through his mind when he did it...

Well, I don't know, but I can tell you what almost went through Andre Gurode's mind! BA-ZING! (Too soon? )

Jeff Fisher promised he'd heap more punishment on if he didn't think the NFL did enough. Think he will?

Definately not too soon.

If he's anything like the coaches at our school, then I'd say he will. I'm almost sure of it seeing as how stupid it was.

I'd say he probably won't be suspended further, from what I've seen they expected Fisher to suspend him for ~4 games anyway, and I think the NFL might have even exacted punishment that Fisher himself suggested to them. However, I personally would put him out for the season; they're already not going to the playoffs, so they're not losing anything, and setting an example needs to be done here. That play disgusted me on many levels.

Well, the NFL suspended him for 5 games. The longest suspension for such a type of act since the two game suspension of a player drilling a Chicago Bears quarterback to the ground about 20 years ago.

It was a screwed up act. ESPN was saying it was like 30% (give or take a few) of the NFL season. I would happen to agree that they need to be more strict or it could get worse.

That's true. That would be pretty bad if it was just a fine. Just as long as it doesn't get to the point of getting away with murder.
