Yesterday, I bought new shoes. I needed something to replace my aging, trashed Colorados. So, I went and bought myself some new shoes. I hate buying new shoes so I eventually settled on a pair that I'd previously found comfortable -- a pair of Converse One Star.

Anyways, I bought them home and I had to lace them. And I decided that I didn't want to do the regular boring kind that I usually do, so I did something different.

Just wondering, how do you guys lace your shoes? Do you do anything fancy or special with yours?

I used to lace up my shoes so that the laces never crossed... they went straight across every row without ever crossing to form those "X"s. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Then I had to buy new laces for the shoes, and didn't waste my time figuring it out again. So now they're just laced up normal.

I.. usually lace them in jsut X patterns.

I don't bother with making my shoes look good, because they don't get noticed anyways, 'cept when I sprain my ankle.

My former roommate informed me once that apparently it's the style of the Canadian Military to lace their boots in a ladder formation, rather than x's.

I just tie them in normal X pattern.

I am far too lazy to think up or actually execute any fancy stuff.

Normal Xing shoelaces for me...

Then again, there WAS a point in which I had straps instead of shoelaces... I even crossed those sometimes

Mine are currently laced normally, but very loosely. The actual "tie" part of the shoelace is very loose as well.

My shoes are really sandals and I'm the only one who knows.

...shit, now other people know.

Similar to that but instead of 3-wide I do 1. I figured that was the norm.

Course I always tend to double-tie my laces. I hate flat tires.

Screw laces. Slip-ons are faster and don't come untied while you're walking. The last pair of shoes I had with laces, I had to triple-knot them to keep them from coming undone.

Mine are laced in the usual X pattern. I really don't concern myself with that; as long as they don't come untied often, it's good enough for me.

I wore slip-ons as a kid, and loved them. Good old Vans. But that was only cuz I couldn't tie them tight enough to not come undone. Now I can, so...

If the laces are good, you should only have to tie them once.

Of course, I'm lazy when it comes to fixing the laces so I do have times where everything just comes apart. And slip-ons are a possibility but I haven't found any I like.

I, like many other people, lace my shoes in the typical, tight, single X fashion. I've never even considered doing anything fancy with them. Oh, and on a side note, I am wearing the EXACT same type of socks as in the image.

Mine are done up in the usual "X" fashion, but I remember I wore my old pair of Sambas so much the laces actually broke near the knot.
