And it is niiiiiice.

(I almost said screenshots here)
Pictures coming when available. Just look at Best Buy's page for a $799 ($989 regularly) laptop from HP.

It's so wide they even managed to fit a numpad on

(in short: this computer is roughly twice as good as my old one)

information here.

Sounds nice.

I actually plan to get a laptop myself over Christmas. But yeah, I'm saving up from mowing lawns, so go figure how long that'll be.

My old laptop sucked balls.

I had a laptop that could hardly run Win 95. Half the time it froze on boot up, which was really sad. The only thing I could ever do in it was play in Paint or Wordpad. Hell, it didn't even have Solitaire/Minesweeper/Hearts/Freecell

I had PC's my entire life until recently I bought a $2000 Sony VAIO... and damn, it is the shit compared to those. No numpad though.

Haha, same deal here Xk.

I got a laptop for graduation, and its so much better than our family computer its not even funny.

And holy shit. I just actually decided to look up my package, I got a Latitude D820 ... the BEST deal. My grandparents spent a whopping 2k on this thing. I had no idea.

Then again I guess it doesn't surprise me, this baby plays Half-Life 2 as smooth as it would a babies butt.

Congratulations for finally getting a good computer (even if it's a laptop). I once had a laptop, but then sold it because I can't really move the cursor with the touchpad (I later got my PC upgraded anyway so it's nothing big).

I instantly bought a USB mouse for mine. I couldn't imagine having to use the touch pad, or the touch 'stick' thing in the middle of the keyboard.

I use this laptop basically as my own desktop anyways.

I don't like touchpads either, myself, but I guess they do the job... I mean, they work if nothing else.

I prefer the stick, though... but nothing compares to a real mouse

(unfortunately, the software for the touchpad is buggy: sometimes it reverts settings like "don't interpret poking the touchpad as clicking", and right now the scroll feature isn't working at all. I think I just stopped something important from starting up, but mabye they should use more descriptive names for boot programs than "cpqset"..)

I might look into getting a USB mouse too, I'm getting tired of the touchpad. It's starting to not be as sensitive as it used to be, meaning I have to mash on it to get it to work. Not fun.

My microsoft wireless laser mouse works great. Haven't changed the battery at all yet, either. Touchpad mice enrage me to no end... I had to have a USB one right away.

Screw your pathetic British slang. It's not a book, it's a laptop, or laptop computer. This is a notebook, also known as a notepad. Laptops aren't even books, the only thing they have in common is that they both open. But we could easily call cupboard doors "storagebooks", and yet we don't. In fact, I want to pimpslap whoever decided to give laptops the alternate name "notebooks". It makes no goddamned sense.

Oh, and that's a sexy new laptop you got there, Xkeeper. I eventually got used to the touchpad on mine, and now rarely use the mouse on it.

I say a laptop. Because there was a gun called the 'laptop gun' in Perfect Dark and it fucking rocked. And laptop's are cool.

Flawless logic.

I use a laptop because my desktop computer sucks compared to this. I've been wanting to get this one computer, but to get everything I would want on it, it would cost way too much. Then again, who needs a car?
