Delita, from FFTactics.

But you didn't hear that one from me.

Good runners up are the Turks, just for being so damn awesome.

EDIT: Grey, you should write that you're talking about FFTactics outside of the spolier box, so people know what game the spolier is for before they highlight it.

Spoiler:
But he isn't really a villain... just a misguided hero. He isn't evil, he just uses questionable methods to achieve good intentions.

Only at the very end does he really do anything blatantly "wrong," and he seems to have remorse for it.

Of course, I'm not complaining that he wasn't evil enough; he was an EXCELLENT character. I'm just not sure if he applies here.

I'd have to agree with wite here, entirely.

Example ... Suikoden II
Spoiler:
It would basically be the same thing as calling Jowy the villian in Suikoden II. Yes, he was the enemy, had his different ways and everything, but he truly was not evil.

But again, in agreement with you guys Delita was an excellent character. And I can say the very same for Jowy.

Yeah, I was looking for actual villains. The two mentioned so far are far from villians. Both of them actually have similar goals to the main characters. I wish Lady and Killer had been better villians, for my obsession with the Shadow Hearts series, but 3 was subpar in general. And the 'villian' of 2 at the end kinda came out of left field.

My favorite villain of all time has to be Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil series. His motivations for all of his actions might be a little vague, is it power or money or both that he wants.
Spoiler:
It's obvious that he has no ideal for his corporations because he seems to jump to a from them based on the highest bidder. That doesn't necessarily mean he's in it for money he just might need the money to get the research done. Also, I love his obsession with Chris, his desire to get back at him and the rest of the STARS team for exposing Umbrella was great.
He's just an all around awesome villain, truly evil and that's what makes him great.

Exactly, that's why they're great villains. I think the characters mentioned from Suiko 2 and FFT are most well conceived kind of "Villain". Unless somebody is just simply insane to the point where everybody despises them, (the cliche, obvious type) a true "Villain" is very subjective.

I'd like to nominate Dracula (Castlevania SoTN example being my fav.) for a good villian. The poor guy is just trying live his life, virtually in solitude, and he has a clan of people swarn to kill him just for being alive. Then from time to time after he's killed, some bored humans start a cult to resurrect him. A very interesting situation imo.

Getting off topic, about Suiko 2 since i liked it so much At first i could understand why Jowy did what he did, but after Luca died their was no good excuse for him to continue the war other then his own selfishness. If not for his selfish shenanigans, a chain of events that caused what happened to the Hero's sister would never have played out. I'll simply say, i didn't feel too bad in finishing him.

Revolver Ocelot is one of my favorite villians. I love how they were able to work him into Snake Eater.

You know, this may be a bump, but I gotta agree: Revolver Ocelot really is an excellent villain. He starts out so minor, and you think he's got little to do with the real plot of Metal Gear Solid, but no... He grows and grows and grows as a character as the games progress.

Even in Snake Eater, you begin to see that initially, he wasn't so bad. But you also see that times change and people change, and that Ocelot is no exception to this, and that's where his character really shines.

And first page rule also applies, this wasn't past it.

And I can agree with the Ocelot part a bit. I loved his antics in 3, he was awesome in 1, and I still would rather pretend 2 didn't happen.

And it was great seeing him in his prime in MGS3. He was definitely the comic relief, but you could see how Big Boss and other things eventually helped him become who he had become.

Speaking of MGS, I really liked Liquid also. He was kind of like that long blonde haired villian in Die Hard that just wouldn't die.

The whole Liquid Ocelot thing though ... eh?
