There are no system specific hex editors (as far as game systems go). Any hex editor will work on any console hacking. I prefer to use Hex Workshop and the built in hex editor in FCEUxd.

Some editors do have console-specific features, like being able to display ROM addresses instead of file addresses. I know Hexecute has an option to display NES ROM addresses. Technically it should be able to display any console's ROM addresses, but it forces a 16-byte header like NES has.

i heard with a table, you can read in-game text with a hex editor, is that true? If so, does anyone know where i can download the table that i would need.

Usually you make your own.
I suggest WindHex32. Small, sleek, and sexy. EDIT: harsh (edited by Celice on 07-14-06 12:28 AM) |

I've noticed a lot of "blahblahblah which hex editor blahblahblah" threads lately. Maybe we should make a sticky thread about hex editors? :p

I suggest Translhexion. I used it all the time on most of the ROMs I used. |
