The program is free. Computer to computer conversation is free.

Danielle - What would it take to get you to learn a language?

Kas: Yessir, totally free when calling from computer to computer.

Candrodor: Like a programming/coding language? I'm not quite sure what qualifies, but I want to learn php and css, as well as learn a lot more html. But beyond that, I don't really care. I thought maybe I'd learn css this summer, but I never really did... oh well.

If you're talking about a spoken language, I know spanish well enough to get basic thoughts across if I were speaking to a spanish individual... I'd love to learn french, too.

I've began to notice some serious flaws with my science teacher. Sometimes I wonder if he is capable of teaching a class.

Or even caring.

Is it normal for a student to feel... smarter than the teacher?

Well if you're in a normal class in terms of difficulty, I'd believe so. Those classes are a joke. Plus, school just started. Give your new teachers some time, they're probably adjusting to the new year just like you are.

I remember my freshman year, I took regular science instead of bio... that was the biggest waste of time in the history of history. My teacher was an idiot and everyone around me was an idiot. So it just depends on the situation, you know?

Thanks for answering my first question (ha ha ha snobby)

Ok here's one that has actually picked at my brain

How do you pronouce---->'acmlm'?

Two things to note before you answer this:

1) I've looked ( I won't say dilligently, but I will say I've looked)
2) I'm guessing it's l33t or something and I've no real clue. (flame me, I don't care. I'm learning)

thanks

I pronounce it by letters, actually. Ay-See-Em-El-Em. But if I'm verbally chatting or something (like on skype), I just say "Ace" or "Ace's" (referring to the board) to save myself the time and embarrassment.

It's pronounced many different ways by members. Ack-mulm and Ack-lum are pretty popular, and I know a handful of people that sound it out like I do. It's just what you prefer.

It's not 1337 or anything, hehe. Ace just created it after hitting a random combo of keys one day... it's quite a story.

I prononuce Acmlm by spelling it out as well.

Now for my question. A school related question.

I hear school starts for you tomorrow. Just out of curiosity, what is the one thing you like the most about returning to school and the one thing you dislike about returning to school?

I'm sure everyone likes at least something about returning for school. For me, it's seeing my friends again.

School sucked. I'm tired and irritated with all the dimwits that surround me.

BUT ANYWAY.

The thing I enjoy the most about going back is seeing my friends every day again (even though I still saw my best friend almost every day over the summer... ), and seeing the few teachers that are awesome. Plus, this year I'm a senior, so... returning back is cool just cuz I can say that.

What I dislike the most about returning to school is getting up so early (school freaking starts at 6:30 am ), and having to be around all the annoying kids. It's sad how immature some people are, and I wish I didn't have to put up with that all year. But oh well.

Tatrion: That's awesome. AWESOME

Heh, if only I knew exactly who made it. I could make a few guesses, but eh.

Anyway, 6:25? That's sort of... huh? I thought it was ridiculous when school started at 7:25 here O_o What is it with starting school early?
I read somewhere that starting school later (8 - 9) increases overall school attendance and grades. Don't ask me to cite my sources though
Not to mention, it totally goes against a teenager's natural biological clock. They are meant to sleep late and go to bed late. Again, my sources aren't in order.

It's weird, when I get on the bus to go to school, you'll have already started, barring time zone differences

I'm still not sure I want to work doing something in my major's field after college. In fact, I'm pretty sure I don't.

I'm not enthused about going back to school. Most quarters in the last couple of years I've ended up dropping most of my classes and wasting time and money.

I need to finish school...but... *shrugs*

Should I even register tomorrow and drop the $1500 on another quarter of classes?

Neo: Um, I'll pass. I like living my life not being stocked every damn second by cameras and whatnot.

Tatrion: Well, it only starts that early because I take a morning class (to lighten up my schedule after lunch, so that I can go home early and have time to do homework before going to work). For a majority of the kids at school, it starts at 7:50. Which is still relatively early, but not as bad as 6:30. Not by a longshot.
I completely agree with your stats though, sources or not. It's VERY difficult for me to listen to my teacher at 6:30, all I'm thinking about is how quickly I could be sleeping again. Just can't let myself put my head down.

Kas: Well, whether you like it or not, school is a pretty important part of life. We all go through it, we all bitch and moan, but you should really stick with it. I understand that you're older, and going back is probably harder, but... if you want a decent career, you need some kind of degree for it. Find something you'd like to study and pursue, and go from there.
