Do normal girls act horny because my girlfriend is hornier than me and it makes me feel like I don't "wear the pants" in our relationship. She is always telling me about her dirty fantasies about me, and she says stuff and makes me feel "violated". (This is no joke.)

Kailieann: Diamonds: A huge ass waste of money!

KPhoenix: There isn't an exact science to how girls act. Some are extremely horny, some aren't. If the way she acts makes you uncomfortable, then you should talk to her about it and tell her to take a chill pill or two. Just tell her to cool her jets. If she cares about you then she'll comply.

That's one situation I'd never want to get thrown into.

I'm sorry to hear that, jeff. You don't have to go into details if you don't want to, but I'd be more than happy to listen if you did. Just hit me up on AIM or IRC whenever you want.

If I were to find out that I would lose my best friend in a certain amount of time, I'd try to just make the best of it. I'm generally an optimistic person, live by carpe diem, but... I really care about my friends. They're a very important part of my life, and losing one would be devastating. All I can tell you is to not lose hope, because doctors have been wrong before. Don't let it bring you down too much, and just enjoy life with your friend as if there were no looming threat, for the time being. Attitude is everything. He knows that possibility, as do you, so there's no reason to let it control you in the present.

If a tree falls over in the wood and makes a sound if no one is around to hear it?

*sneaks back in and pretends he was never gone*

There aren't any classes offered next quarter that I need and can't pick up in the summer. It'll push me graduating back AGAIN... but I'm ...kinda... considering sitting out another quarter. I don't think it's a great idea... but I'm about to have to have surgery on my eye. It won't be cheap. And I need to make some serious income. I'm about to sell off a lot of my old records and Transformers (sadness) and it would be great if I could also work full time for a few months. And it's kinda hard to study right now anyway because of my eye (sitting at the computer is no fun either.)

I could always take out a student loan... but I've NEVER been in debt before and don't really want to start now if I can help it.

...What do you think? What Would Dani Do?

Neo: I'm... gonna assume you were asking whether or not the tree makes a sound. My answer is yet. There are laws of science that prove it would make noise, even if nobody is around to vouch for it.

Kas: Hmm. Well, you have plenty of reason to take school off until the summer, I'm not going to argue about that with you. My only concern would you whether or not you ever finish. You just have to promise yourself that you will finish school and get your degree, no matter what. Set a deadline, whether it be this summer, or a year from now. Just make sure that if you do take a break, you WILL go back. If you can do that and stick to it, then I'm all for taking time off. Good luck with that surgery.

I'm not planning on taking off until summer. We still have 2 quarters before then (I'm not on semester.)

I was wanting you to argue with me on it =P I just wanted to know what you think you'd do in my shoes.

Well I'm not the best person to ask when it comes to school I'm ridiculously anal about school and it takes quite a bit for me to decide not to go. But that's just me, and I know it's ridiculous. I can certainly see why you're considering time off, and as long as you're positive you'll return then I don't see why not.

If I were you, I suppose I'd work extra hard until summer so that I can take some time off and not fall too far behind. But I don't know if that's a valid option for you.

Don't get in over your head. If that means holding off on school for the summer, then by all means do so.

Is proof reading the only way to help me get over this tendency to drop keywords when typing out sentences on this board and my IMs?

Pretty much, yeah. I have the same problem, my mind goes faster than my fingers do sometimes and words somehow disappear. But I always proofread schoolwork, and catch the mistakes. It's a good habit to get into.

I type very slowly. I have the opposite problem. My mind works way faster than my fingers, so it bottlenecks my thought process and lowers the quality of any lengthy bit of material that I write.

Perhaps I should just dictate...?

rofl.

I'm going to have to do this at least once, just for you.

But do I spell out things like "rofl" or do I make a word out of it?

I tend to pronounce them as words in my mind.

I usually pronounce them too, but not all of them. rofl = roffle (like waffle), lmao = elmayo, lol = el oh el, wtf = whathefffff. ...I sort of slur it and skip the cussing.

Go ahead Kas, make a recording.

Then, in that case, I'll have to think of some questions. Give me a bit of time to think of a few; I'm a bit off-balance, apparently (reference for progeny).

Here's one, while my mind is on the mosts. How did you come to running the mosts? Was there a thread in Private Area a year or so ago asking for a volunteer, and you took it?

...

Ah, this is a bit more difficult than I thought... (5 minutes later)

This one's a bit random. It only occured to me because I happened to notice my bedside fan. Do you sleep with a fan on at night? If you do, is it a celing fan, or a stand-alone? And again, if you do it, do you do it for the white noise, or for the actual function of the fan?

Now if only I could think of a third question, I believe that would be enough to kick-start this thread again.

(10 minutes later...)

What's your opinion on the Lord of the Rings series, if you've ever read them? Almost everyone I've asked about it has told me they're some of the greatest books ever, but I simply can't get into them. And it's strange too, I like other fantasy-genre books, such as Artemis Fowl (albeit that series is set much farther ahead in the future), but... I've said it already.

And on a side note, what is your most favorite book?

Not really. I helped Ashley host it last winter mosts, because counting the votes is definitely not a one person job. I enjoyed being a part of it so much that next time it came around, I jumped right in and offered to host. Ashley didn't want to anymore, and nobody else seemed to be jumping for it... so I did it, and Kattwah helped me count. This year I began the staff discussion, and I think it was just assumed I'd be hosting. Don't know who will help me count, but I've had plenty of offers, plus Xk saying he'd run them through a counting program if I just tally them up out from the thread to a txt file. We'll see how that goes. But I really enjoy hosting them.

Do you sleep with a fan on at night? If you do, is it a celing fan, or a stand-alone? And again, if you do it, do you do it for the white noise, or for the actual function of the fan?

I do sleep with a fan. Every single night, if I want to sleep at all, there is a fan on in my room. In the summer, when it's really hot in my house (we have no AC) I use it both for its typical use AND the white noise... but for the rest of the year, it's just for the noise. I can't sleep in silence, and I can't sleep with music or I'll just stay up all night singing along.

What's your opinion on the Lord of the Rings series, if you've ever read them?

Never read them. I saw the first two movies though, and eh. I can definitely see why people love it, and I'm sure the books are better than the movie, but it's just not something I ever got into, and I have no interest in changing that. I love Harry Potter, I'll just stick to that. <3

And on a side note, what is your most favorite book?

My favorite book... that's pretty tough. The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger is definitely near the top of my list, as is Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. I've read them both multiple times, and love them more and more every time. Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder is also a favorite, because I love philosophy. And I can't forget the classics, like Animal Farm by George Orwell and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. And Harry Potter of course.
There's also a book I'm currently reading, called The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. It's about the string theory and all the hype surrounding it, and it's very very interesting. But I'm not that far into it yet, so I'll have to hold back calling it "a favorite" for the time being.
