This is why vertical taskbars rock. Also, Prt Scrn.

BTW, having 2 monitors rocks, and here's me trying to fit as many different editor windows onto the screen as I can.

shift+alt+prtscrn = high contrast?

also, I currenlty have 3 windows open, I have every program/folder I would ever need to open on my quicklaunch, though, it only gets bad when I'm working on something and actually need several windows open.

Oh, and as I'm at work... you're not missing much. For reals, it's just Outlook, Word, and two IE windows (hey, the first day in the offices, I asked if we could install Mozilla and was told NAY).

this one's pretty minimal but there's rarely much else. Maybe a folder or 2 and maybe a game or something. Also, mine actually says:

Print
Screen
------
SysRq
+------+

Usually the two main windows open whenever I'm on the computer would be lololol + Thunderbird. It can get kinda bad though... mIRC, a few chats on Trillian, maybe something like Winamp/RO/Gunbound/iTunes/etc... And if I forget to close some extra lololol windows, it gets nasty.

That's one of the reasons why I switched to 1280x1024 last month.

I would take a screenshot but I am still getting used to Mac.

I currently have Finder, Dashboard, Safari, iChat, and iTunes. I could prolly run A LOT more.

If you wanna take a screenshot, try command+control+shift+3 (sends to the clipboard). Or use Grab. (from memory, under Applications, then Utilities... )

And yeah, you can run a lot on the Mac, and Exposé makes it really easy to switch between things too

Or you could drop the shift and have the screenshot directly saved to your desktop.

I usually have just about 4-6 windows open on average, while the most was being around 15. I can kind of multitask, like talking on the phone while gaming/using the computer, but I can't handle 1 person on the phone while another right next to me talking at the same time. My parents usually do that when I call my sister. I get overloaded with words. *Makes taskbar vertical* Maybe this'll be easier...

Norton FTL.

I like having my taskbar just wide enough to fit 8 system tray icons, since that's generally how many I have, and it's wide enough to show enough of the buttons that I can easily tell what they are.

Seriously though, I have 17 quick launch icons, 8 tray icons, 2 toolbars, the clock with date, and still enough room for probably 30 windows.

Instead of doing all of that I just set my laptop up beside the desktop and I'm good to go. Two taskbars are better than one.

Umm... 2 toolbars? What do you mean by that? Did you just bring your toolbar width by 1?

For me I normally have about 10 Applications open and normally 20 windows. One time I had about 40 windows open and 25 were minimized so my dock(I use Mac) was in a horrid state of I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS ICON IS. Most of the time though I just have a couple web browsers with a few windows in each, some IM clients with some convos for a few people, iTunes, and Fireworks with 1 or 2 images open and that's about it. Most of the time I'll have some other things open but I'm most likely not using them. I never close any applications after I'm done with them. Sometimes I do, mostly because I need to so I can clear up some dock space. Other than that I just leave everything open. I guess you could say I'm okay with window management.

you guys should see me while Im programming, or better yet, a couple minutes ago when I was making my new dev team site....

I had 4 workspaces (Im using linux) full to the brim with about 3 text editors (in each) Mozilla(with about 5 tabs on it), bluefish (HTML/Web script editor) The gimp (a window management task on it's own), a couple terminals, GFTP, Konqueror, thunar (file manager), and thats about it.

I've had more running though.
I must say, Slackware seems to bring out all the power on my 1.3GHZ machine. There are times when I use soooo many apps, that pretty much any other OS would crash (maybe not BSD) .

Not gonna bother posting a screenshot cause I'm an ergonomics nut. Tabbed browsing, numerous programs that run but don't need to be watched hiding in the system tray, that sort of thing. Most you'll ever see in my task bar is 3-4 items when I'm swapping stuff around in folders. =P

I really suck at it. Mostly I only have avout one window open or maybe I have two when I have AIM open. The worst window management person I know is my grandpa. He never closes a window when he leaves the computer so they keep adding up.
