You... You... You ignorant... Ants are vulnerable creatures, and are far more susceptible to disease than you or I because they're not extremely complex animals. As a result of this, they require a defense, and they emit a substance wherever they walk which disinfects things. If you put ants in your food, you're LESS likely to get sick than if you don't. Also, potato chips are crunchy, but they're horrible for you. Ants, like most animals, are high in protein.

I have learned so much. This isn't going to make me want to go eat ants now though. I still find that disgusting.

Now, now, it's solely a person's opinion as to whether heaven exists or not. Even given that it does exist, there's the question of whether or not they will go to heaven.

This thread sure is going downhill fast. All the guy wants to know is how he can get rid of ants that are invading his home, and it turned into an argument about the morality of killing animals. This is the part where I'd make mention of red fire ants and ask you if you wouldn't kill those (and allow them to bite you into a coma, or to death). So, would you? If fire ants were invading your home, would you kill them, or just go about your normal business because killing them is wrong, and they don't know you don't like that? Or would you just move out for them?

And personally, I can't see how eating ants is still a good idea...

Why did it turn to murder. Anywho, Alastor I like to kill ants because I hate when they get on my legs it's just so irratating. BTW, about the fire ants they scare me because like it said on malcom in the middle "Dewey is covered in honey tied to a tree then a million hungry fire ants come rushing...." that's noy gonna end good.

I used to eat ants when I was younger but I don't really go homicidal on ants. I find ants very fascinating creatures and I'm all like "Live and let live-as long as it doesn't bother me". And ants don't bother me. But yeah, if you have this huge colony in your house I can understand that you'd rather get rid of them.

The only problem I ever had with ants was when I was six. I went to open a package of pop-tarts (my dad buys craploads of them, we have never have less than about six boxes worth of them at one time), and ants were crawling everywhere out of the bag and on the counter when I opened it. It freaked me out, I woke up my mom from a nap, she killed them, and we never really had a problem since anyway. But still, me being only six years old and thinking that my house was a safe bug-free haven, it was freaky.

I don't really kill ants, I'm no nature freak or Captain Planet guy, but I just leave them alone. Seriously, there are billions of them, it makes no sense to me to waste time killing them unless they infest your home or are in the middle of your yard.

Oh, and Coby, I also find them facinating. It's fun watching them carry food that's twice their size and stuff.
