What's your sleep pattern like? Are you the kind of guy who goes to bed at 22 and gets up again at 06? Do you stay up untill the late hours and wake late in the day? Perhaps you sleep during the day and get up during the night to suck the blood of the living and/or work the night shift as a gas station attendant?

Or is your sleep totally random and erratic like mine? I never know when I'm going to be tired, I never know when I'm going to need to sleep. It's frustrating, and it ruins a lot of your planning when you sleep from 08 to 15 the one day and 20 to 05 the next. See, I live on top of the world, where the sun disappears for two months a year, but where it also stays up for two months. Where currently in the midnight-sun period. I haven't seen darkness since May, and that, combined with the fact that I have nothing to do this summer, means that my sleep pattern is totally ruined. It's frustrating, it's tiresome, and I'm pretty sure it ain't healthy. I'm getting on a plane headed south in 10 hours, and I'll stay in the south for the next couple of weeks. Now, southern Norway is brighter than most places during the winter, but I think I'll at least get a couple of hours a night with darkness. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully it's exactly what I'll need to get a regular sleep pattern again. Something to tell me "ok then, it's night now, it's time to sleep"...

Sorrry about the rant. I guess I'm tired.

I wish I could sleep.

I feel restless. But something keeps me awake.

If left to my own devices for long enough I fall into a pattern of going to bed at sunup and waking LATE in the afternoon. I just honestly find it a lot easier to fall asleep quickly when the sun is shining.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't work on my schedule so I have to adjust it accordingly. So I'm almost always tired.

Same here. I normally don't go to bed until at least 4 AM, but normally it's more around 5:30 or so. When I get up it's mostly somewhere between 2 PM - 3 PM. I went to bed last night around 6 AM and got up at 4 PM today, and tonight I'm not even going to bed, so I guess you could say that my sleep pattern often times keeps getting pushed back until I offset it so I can get back on an okay schedule. And by okay, I mean going to be at 1 AM and getting up at 11 AM.

During the school year, it's bed at 10-11pm, awake at 5am. Every day. Except weekends, which are random depending on how I feel.

During the summer, it's more like midnight-2am bed, and 8-11 waking up, depending on what I'm doing that day. Not too extreme... I very much enjoy my sleep.

My sleep patterns are currently broken and useless.

I go to bed too late, I have trouble getting up in the mornings, on weekends I go to bed even later and sleep till ridiculous hours of the day.

As this is generally not like me, I'm not happy with it, and I suspect that something is very messed up

Besides, it makes my head hurt.

I'm not currently happy with my sleep schedule either. It makes me feel worthless and like I get nothing useful done. Being up all night alone is kinda depressing too. I can't go outside and work in the shop in the dead of night, so I just kinda fuck around or work on my chainmaille.

Right now during my summer vacation, going to bed between 2 am - 4 am and waking up between 9:30am - noon is quite common for me. I usually stay up late because I like the fact that it is very quiet at night since everyone else is asleep.

In the school year, I have to be in bed by 10:30pm and I wake up at 6:15 am on school days always. Weekends, I end up falling asleep around midnight to 2am depending if it's a Friday night or Saturday night. I can wake up around 7am to 9am without the alarm clock because I'm use to waking up pretty early during ths school year.

It's safe to say that I'm happy with my sleep pattern as of now.

Yeah, it's messing with my general productivity too. I feel like I'm not doing a great job at work lately cause I'm tired, miserable and distracted, and outside of work I'm not achieving anything because I'm tired... miserable and distracted.

Actually, a fair amount of my general cheerfulness can be tied to my productivity, a sense of achievement and the like. If I'm not sleeping, I tend to not do things I should, and then I feel down

Or it could just be that I'm slipping into Depression again, but I hope not.

During the school year the weekends are like my summer days. On the weekdays though, I go to bed around 10 PM+ and wake up between 6 - 7 AM. I normally don't go to bed past midnight unless I have a lot of work that I need to do before the next day. One time that caused me to be up until 2 AM. I don't like having to get up in the morning. It's not that I don't get enough sleep the night before. It's more of the fact that my body doesn't like to get up early unless I've had some 14+ hours of sleep. That's probably the only problem I have with school is that I have to get up early. I like late nights and sleeping in. That's how I live.

Depression is no fun.

I have to watch it sometimes.

But I make a point every day to find some tiny little thing that makes me happy and then I make a point to say "Hey, there's a good reason to be happy."

That sounds cheesy as all hell, but it really helps brighten my outlook.

You think THAT'S intelligent? You should see his hello thread....has to have the most thought I have ever seen ever

I like my sleep pattern. In the summer, I'm up til midnight-1am, or if I'm doing something fun or productive, 2-3am. In the morning, I usually wake up at 7-10, go for a bike ride, then sit on the computer for a while. (can't live without my bike ride)

During school, I'm in bed by 11:00 PM, and I typically fall asleep by 11:15. However, some nights I just can't get to sleep til like 2 am, and it bugs me. On weekends, I'm up til midnight like, always.

And that's it I guess

During summer and school I tend to go to bed after 1:00 am (To be specific 1-2:30am), and wake up around 11 or 12:00 pm.

Back then, a few months ago (even up till a few weeks ago) I was going to bed around 3 am but I don't do that anymore.

For one, I tend to do nothing at that hour except read and secondly, a friend of mine doesn't like when I stay up late.

My sleep pattern these days is crap.

Basically there's two variables: X, which is the time I actually fall asleep, and Y, which is the time I wake up.

The crap part is that each day these two are re-defined with values I don't know and will not figure out until I wake up the next day only not to know what they'll be until next morning again. The good part is that it's just that way in summer and during holiday season break because I got nothing really important (or nothing, period) to do during these times.

When college starts again this fall, chances are that'll have a bit more control over my sleep time since I will have to make sure I must go to bed early and wake up early. If not, then it'll be sleep pills time.
