My second favorite game on Yahoo! (second to Literati) is Graffiti, so... I'm gonna try doing a tournament for this game as well.
The game is just like pictionary, where each player (3-4 in a room) has to draw as many words as possible while the other players guess. You get 50 points for guessing correctly, and 50 for someone else guessing your drawing, so winning this tournament will require skill on both parts. It's tons of fun, if you've played it then you know that. We're looking for 16 players right now, and hopefully we'll get that many. I'm still trying to decide the best way to play... right now I have a 2 round tourny, but it seems kind of short. If I figure out a way to extend the tournament then that's the way we'll go. We also have a possibility of playing teams... So if you're interested, sign up and voice your opinion of the best way to set up the tournament. If you don't know how to play and want to do a practice round before you sign up, just look for me on AIM and I'll play a game with you. But it requires 3 people, so keep that in mind. Really guys, the game is very fun, you'll laugh your asses off. Nothing like pictionary! 1. Danielle 2. Kyouji 3. Kamek 4. Colin 5. Kasdarack 6. Xk 7. Luigi-San 8. Sonicandtails 9. KATW 10. Thoughtless 11. Neo 12. Grey 13. Tommathy 14. Kirbynite 15. Dr. Death 16. Ailure RULES: Most importantly, do not under any circumstances use letters or words in your drawings. For example, if the word is alphabet, and you write "abc...", I will first disqualify you, and then hunt you down and hurt you. >8( NO LETTERS. If you're drawing a book, you cannot write something on the cover. You get the point. No letters. Now, if your word is "math", you may certainly draw a + or a - or a x sign. By all means. But do not write "log" or "addition" or anything like that. EVERYONE UNDERSTAND? KAY GREAT. Don't cheat. HEY THAT'S SIMPLE. If someone gets disconnected from the game due to lag or Yahoo! issues, they are not kicked out. Keep playing, and they can return as soon as possible and start playing again. If two players tie, all 4 will play again (but the new score will only matter for the two that are tied). Of course, this only matters if the tie is between 2nd and 3rd place people. So in that situation, the 1st and 4th would play again but their scores in the second game wouldn't effect them. Anything I'm missing? I loveses it! Of courses I sign up.
By the by, a 27-person or 9-person tournament seems a better idea (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 07-10-06 08:19 PM) |

How so?
I asked for ideas of how to set it up, how to make it longer than 2 rounds and such. |

Well, say we go in groups of 3. You could have three matchups featuring three players with the winner moving on to the next round. If two players tie, then they have a playoff I guess.
Or if we got 12 people... 4 matches and the four winners/two highest second-place players move on. |

Okay, KATW helped me figure out how we'll play.
With 16 players, we'll have 4 games to start it off. From there, there will be two winners and two losers brackets. The 1st and 2nd place players go to winner's, 3rd and 4th to losers. From there, the 1st and 2nd in each bracket advance. The 4 teams remaining in each bracket will play, and the top two advance to the final game. That game will be played, and in the end, whoever has the most points wins. ...oh right, points. I forgot that part! You get 4 points for every 1st place, 3 for 2nd, etc. Get it? If we do teams, it will work the same way, except... two teams will play instead of four seperate players. You can pick your team mate! What does everyone think, and which would everyone prefer? |

For 9 players, there would be 5 rounds: 4 rounds of 3 games each in the first four rounds, and a final game (or series) in round five. Each player plays against two players he/she has not played before in each round. In essence, every person will end up playing every other person, but everyone will be playing 2 people at a time. You could give the winner 3 points, 2nd place 2 points and 3rd place 1 point (ties can be handled at your discretion). After 4 rounds, the top three scorers advance to the final (again, ties can be handled however you want). The final can be either a single game or a first to X points series. That method also works with 16 people; just make it 5 rounds of 4 4-player games each before the final. Edit: Never mind, KATW apparently beat me to it. (edited by Kamek77 on 07-10-06 11:12 PM) |

You don't need to give out points. Just keep track of who finishes where, it's very simple. | |||
