145? Daaaaaaaaaaaamn. I usually just skip before the song ends, so I have no idea how many times I've listened to ANYTHING.

np: Editors: "Munich"

Hey kids! Do you love Interpol? Then you'll LOVE Editors! They're basically the British Interpol... who are themselves Americans trying to be Joy Division, a British band... too... much... meta... (blacks out) Anyway, this song's a lot more conventionally poppy, but still very heavy on the Joy Division school of post-punk. Not really breaking any new ground, but no one said they had to.

I'll have to look into them, Drjay. I love Joy Division, and Interpol is good 99% of the time. I'll look for them tomorrow.

As for me.

Stadium Arcadium

Their new album, that I've been listening to like a madwoman. I've been waiting for this album for months, and it's really great. This song has a nice ring to it, though I still think Dani California is the best (at the moment). I need to listen some more to the second disc, I always end up switching to another band before it gets there.

Artist: Jay-Z
Album: The Blueprint
Song: Renegade

I was not a big fan of Jay-Z but I won't deny that he is a force in the Hip-Hop game (Before he retired). I have quite a few of his albums and in each album I only like a handful of songs. The song "Renagade" being of them. The beats and sound just are off the wall. And it features two fo the best rappers alive, the jigga man and Eminem. The only collaboration song in this album and it is one of the best songs in this album. Both rappers bring their lyrical talent, even more so Eminem, whom I believe actually outshined Jay-Z in his own song.

I killed the thread...

Artist: Motion City Soundtrack
Album: I Am The Movie
Song: The Future Freaks Me Out

Another band Danielle recommended. As you can tell, Danielle and I do this every week. Exchange bands and whatnot.

But yeah, out of the two bands she recommended me this week (The other being The Fray) I am enjoying this group more. This song is just awesome. It has a catchy popish singing style with a more rockish sound. I can't help but find myself singing along with them or humming it when it's over. The album is very nice, has a few songs that stick out and such. I need to acquire their more recent album, hopefully it won't suck and be as equally if not greater than this one.

Thom Yorke - Cymbal Rush

From his new solo album, (which he insists is still part of the Radiohead series), The Eraser.

Absolutely amazing track. Starts off with a weird repeating synth line that flows through the entire song, before introducing some weird synthy pads before Yorke's distinctive vocals come in, and soft, emotional piano starts playing in the background. Later, a drum line starts to kick in and a brilliant piano riff takes over, with the repeating synth line still playing and Thom Yorke's vocals now reminicent of a part of 'There There', on Radiohead's 'Hail to the Theif' album.

Reminds me so much of boards of canada. they're an amazing duo by the way, everyone! You should all listen to the campfire headphase. Brilliant album - really relaxing, yo.

The Blue Man Group - Rods and Cones

Saw them live when I went to Vegas last weekend. All I can say is fricken awesome. I've never seen three more entertaining people that don't talk or make any facial expressions.
They just... play music. And somehow manage to make every situation hilarious.
The audio CD gets me pumped up, it's energizing. Pure drumming.

I also have a DVD of it, but I won't put that on my ipod for fear of cracking up in class.

Remioromen - Beer to Pudding

This Japanese band is quite cool. Many of their songs are kind of somber but light at the same time. Their music videos are quite inspiring as well. This song, sadly does not have a music video

Orion by Metallica (Live at "Rock AM Ring", well, that was today).

First time they played the song in it's full version (well, they played the whole MoP album), and it's great, seriously.

(it's a good reward, I mean, I did split the whole 2:21:55 MP3)

Raconteurs - Steady, As She Goes

Raconteurs is Jack White of the White Stripe's new band, along with Brendan Benson and two other longtime friends of White.

White Stripes are average to me. But this band is 2454434365976 times better. It has a full sound, finally, that Jack White needed. Benson and him sound great singing front together, and this song is just plain catchy.
Seriously seriously awesome. Glad to see Jack White is finally going somewhere (at least I hope).

np: Dr. Dre & Ice Cube: "Natural Born Killaz"

Great, now every time I hear this song, I keep thinking of New Jack. (For yinz who didn't follow ECW, this was his entrance music, and it would keep playing through his matches.) I'm trying to figure out how a movie that isn't even 20 minutes long (Murder Was the Case) has a 14-song soundtrack, but ooookay. This was their first song together after settling their post-NWA beef, and they hadn't lost a step. That would happen, at least for Ice Cube, when he was in Are We There Yet? GREAT hook in the chorus, and look this song up on Wikipedia for a quickie link to the video. Betcha didn't notice Tupac played the sniper at the end.

Demons and Wizards s/t album

Always an amazing listen. I'd been gone for the better part of a year from my home...leaving behind all of my possessions in boxes and storage. So, when I got home the first thing I did was rip my CDs out of their box, put them on a shelf...and listen. I have a lot less CDs than I used to. Just over 150. Given that my old collection was approaching 450 you can see how big of a drop that is. I just kept my favourites - although I do regret getting ride of 300 CDs. It is somewhat crushing knowing that alot of those CDs are probably only one of a handful of copies that made it over to North America from Scandinavia or Russia. But at least I'm spreading the music around by selling it to used CD stores! Needless to say I came to the last CD in the stack today, which was Demons and Wizards. By God I love it. I got the Pop-Up digipack of the album, which makes it double cool. Needless to say I'm torn between putting this and Night At The Opera on infinite replay for all time in my CD player.

DJ Sharpnel - MOONEARTH

This song is pretty cool, for a sped up version of a song from Turn A Gundam (A damn good song at that). Kinda generic techno synth but the sped up version of Moon makes up for it. that and the sample from Turn A Gundam in the beginning of the song.

If that's what I think it is (and I can't check as I'm at work) you're right. Stu Stone plugged that on another message board (the W) months ago and, verily, it was good. Best part: Bob's "asking if they're lesbians (well, are you?)"

If I remember, C&C never had a good song... until now. They could have made better lyrics but other than that, everything else is the s***. The 2 minute ending seriously kicks ass.

EDIT: The link to the mp3 is from the official homepage www.dragonforce.com
It points to another one, so my link could be considered illegal, but it is the official link,

Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames from their newest album Inhuman Rampage

A pure musical drug trip. This band features Power Metal at its finest, with incredible speed, usually very long tracks and superb guitar soli.
Due to the "nature" of this music sub-genre the singer has a higher voice and doesn't "grunt" like in Death Metal (but for this or Melodic Death Metal there is In Flames, which I also like very much), but it just fits.
The climax of this album is in the seventh track "Cry For Eternity", but except the 8th track all other ones are great too.
