DahrkDaiz-
Maybe it would be possible to have a pipe underwater that the fish enemies, or squids keep coming out of, like the goombas in world 1-2. Also you could change the GFX of the bow wow (Ball & chain enemy) to look like a pihrana plant, also maybe extend the chain and/or make it spit fireballs. Also, regular pihrana plants with extra large vines that will maybe shoot up faster, and block your way, maybe you can only hit it in the head with a fireball to defeat it, not the vine, or maybe only the hammer suit (or whatever fireball alternative you create) can defeat it via the vine. Maybe also a floating, or underwater version of that white enemy that sits on the lily pad, and hops when you jump over it (sorry, I can't find my enemy index). Underwater bullet bills could be cool too. You could also make an underwater maze on a sidescrolling level (like the airships, etc.), maybe a sunken ship, if you take the wrong route, or take too long, you'll get squashed, but that's more of a level idea. Let me know if any of this helps!

Has anyone ever made a simple hack of SMB that switched out players (in a two player game) both when you died *and* whenever one player beat a level? I never play it with anyone anymore because I know the game too well and, quite frankly, usually have to kill myself on purpose to let the other player have a turn. It'd be a lot more fun to make it switch back and forth so both players got to play, regardless of skill.

If no one has done that, I think it'd be a nice hack idea.

Actually SMB3 is already like that where when you complete a level it switches to the other guy. Then again you must mean this on a SMB1 game right.

A Patch which would allow the dash for Bass in Megaman & Bass for GBA by just pressing R, instead of tapping forward twice.

That site has some interesting info about the Super Famicom about 16 months before its release (July 1989). The most fascinating thing on the page is about the game 'Dragonfly,' imo. It appears to be a all-range shooter of sorts. My intuition tells me that the game eventually transformed into what we know as Pilotwings by some weird twist of fate. My idea is to haxxorz Pilotwings into Dragonfly.

I'm sure this will never happen, and I certainly wouldn't be the one to do it, but it's a cool idea, and probably could have been done. I was playing pilot wings 64 the other day, and thought how great it would be if the makers had added a course editor which would allow you to place tarkets, rings, robots, and even the giant green ball & goal wherever you liked. That would probably have increased the replay value of that game 100% Oh well, maybe they'll think of this for future games.

A cool hack would be for SM64. where you could play as Walugi Luigi and Bowser and try to defeat An evil villain named Boncari, who is a Giant with a Huge sword and fires lazer beams!

A hack of SMW with diffrent powerups like:
Fire Mario, Cape Mario, Racoon Mario, Tanooki Mario, Hammer Mario, Kuribo boot, Metal Mario, Wing Cap Mario, and others... I know it's almost impossible though.
Idea 2: A hack of Super Mario AllStars + World ASM linked! I'm too tired to explain it, though...

A few seemingly realistic hack ideas for a game that took some risks and failed by many people's accounts on certain things (some aspects I agree with, beyond the stupid normal complaint being "ITZ NOT SICCRIT OF MANNA GRR") : Secret of Evermore.

#1 - Script re-write. consistant "b movie" references make me sad. I'm actually working on the ability to do so right now (with some success, but I'm currently experiencing a stagnation in progress due to inexperience and how differently it seems to handle text from other games =/)

#2 - 2 player mode and bazooka ammo fix (patches actually already exists, but it's just so damned cool they exist now that I have to mention them)

#3 - MP system to replace non-story essential spells (pretty much excluding only levitation I think), I'm not sure whether it should be done on an individual spell basis, where leveling up your magic also allows you to use it more often, or to have sort of a pork barrel system like most RPGs (e.i. current/max MP type of thing with a certain MP cost per spell). Then make INN rests (significantly) more expensive to counter the benefit, or even more unrealistically have a nap(HP) or sleep(HP/MP) option, nap obviously being cheaper. Well, realistic, but probably too tedious for what it's worth.

#4 - This might actually be the easiest idea I have for this game-- remove the individual weapon skill levels for each weapon, and just have a spear, sword, and axe skill level.

#5 - Make the sprint last longer, it's way too short. (like 1.5x)

#6 - Now this is pretty unlikely, but make the main character change appearance with his surroundings like the dog. It'd add more options to the possible dialogue, and be a little more consistant.

Actually, I had one idea, but I can't get it work right, cause my PC sucks, so...

I would like to see either Megaman 1 or Legend of Zelda hack (because those are the only games I feel aplicable) to make the game much more like Metal Gear. The first one, and I mean the MSX version, NOT the NES. I say Legend of Zelda for the plausability of the feel of it. X/Y axis. Next is Megaman, because I feel that, with some sprite editing, it could make an outstanding MGS, but I could imagine it a lot better on an individual basis, with a set order rather than a level select... Oddly.

Anyways, yeah. I can help anyone who needs with story/level selection.

I though i might make a hack of any nes game to make it halo nes based on the ytmnd. it will not feature the light gun for that would be way to complicated for me (unless you want grunts flying around the screen quacking...) What I want from you guys is to help me find a good game that would work. Please dont say metroid! Ive tried already and unless somone with a long expirience with hacking tells me i can, i wont change my mind.

As I was saying before it got deleted, I first had the idea of Predator being a good Halo hack. But then again Halo is very vehicle based as well, and Predator is lacking vehicles.

Another game worth looking into is Low G Man, in this game there are vehicles that could be converted into Banshees and Ghosts and any other if you can figure it out. Also he jumps extremely high like MC. In the game you also start out with a pistol and a melee attack like halo, and can select between weapons. The way you get the vehicles is by hyjacking them like in halo.

What do you think?
