To stop the all the threads, I suggest we create a thread in which all hack ideas will go into. I'll start: A cool hack would be to create a hack of SMB3 where mario and luigi are seperate characters and each have their own seperate worlds and levels, with like 5 new powerups, a bunch of new items, new enemies and cool gfx. I think that would cool. Anyone want make for me?
But seriously, please keep hack ideas here. |

I'd like to see a more complete sonic 1 megamix
Let me elaborate. Last year I played a homebrew Sega CD demo of Sonic. It start you in a room with boxes and springs. The boxes would change you into either sonic tails or knuckles. The springs took you to sonic 1 or 2 and they only had the first stage of each game. It was complete with title changes and characters full abilities. Flying\gliding\spindash EDIT: It was call Proof of Concept My Idea is to have all the Sonic related games as well as to switch between all the characters. The game would include... Sonic 1 Sonic CD Sonic 2 Sonic 3 and Knuckles Knuckles Chaotix and maybe Sonic 3D The choosable Characters would be Sonic Tails Knuckles Shadow Mighty Charm Bee Vector the Crocodile Espio the Chameleon Since KC alreaqdy has most of the character, You would just need to add Sonic and Tails. What about rip them from Sonic Crackers and add them to the KC Screen? It would be a very massive project more than likely headed by Stealth and Tweaker. (edited by Bane King on 07-06-06 01:27 PM) |

A cool hack would have been for SSB 64.
That the whole plot was changed. Kinda like the first level on the Adventure mode In SSBM. A classic Super Mario sidescrolling hack in SSB with Mario and luigi and some polygon hacks to make goombas and paratroopas and stuff. You could have taken some script from "Race to the finish". The script is when you reach the end of the level, or the race. Some area 2 will appear. The Area 2 appears in the both super smash games when you have reached the end point of area 1. I'm ... totally speechless. I was shocked when I found people had actually REPLIED to this But, I suppose that's just my opinion. In the end this does get rid of those stupid n00b replies to threads where people get all hyped up over something small, like new data being found in a game. |

But in all seriousness, a few things I'd like to see: 1.) More wacky ASM hacks. Look at Japanese SMB1 hacks like Tower Re and XXXX. You never have any idea what to expect, cause they constantly change gameplay elements from level to level to keep things fresh. 2.) More non-linearity and choices for things to do. They should also at least be slightly worth going for: reward the path tricker to travel with nice items or even a different path through the game. 3.) Entirely new settings and characters instead of the original game's. Tell new stories. |

Well I need an idea for my hack. Here's the premise:
It's of SMB3 (duh) and every level has a green coin you can collect. You will go from world to world using a pipes on the map screen (there's no king, no princess letters, etc, etc). I will have the pipes appear after completing the boss stage. Now, I need some use for the green coins. I might make it so you must unlock pipes using the green coins, or I might make it so that you can only access some power-ups based on the number of green coins you have. Ideas are very welcomed. |

Well, I had an idea for an EarthBound hack but it never was completed.
It was going to be called I Love the 80's:EarthBound Style. I was going to change the main characters, the bicycle to a weird-van, and the whole maps (changing Giant Step to an abandoned music factory, the desert to a swamp.) and the meteorite to a 1986 Sony big screen TV. Also, most of the enemies were going to be 1980's based (characters, style, etc.) For example, I was going to make Everdred into Heathcliff, have Alf as the first "sanctuary guardian" and much more. I don't really see completed EarthBound hack nowadays, but I would actually like to see a completed one (and not one that just has some minor things changed.) I have a few boss ideas for SM64. None involve Mario's favortie pastime enemy.
First, I want to say that this is what I hopeto do in the future when the editor comes out. If not, then I'll wait for future versions. Please don't flame me or my ideas. First boss: Chagma the Chomp. Chagma is a red fire-brething Chain Chomp that has taken Peach's castle and it's up to Mario (or Luigi) to stop him. The Chagma battle arena will be Bowser One's. To defeat him, fight him like Bowser. His name is derived from 'chomp' and 'magma' making 'Chagma'. Second boss: Buck the Banzai Bill. Buck is a Banzai Bill who is more intelligent than Chagma. Buck is the one who ordered Chagma to take the castle. Buck's battle arena will consist of: a somewhat large square platform in the middle, on it is a wing cap to fly to the four smaller squares surrounding it. On one of them is a Metal cap. To defeat Buck, you have to hit him three times while having the metal cap on. Buck flies around, so you need the wing cap to reach him. Final Boss: Ztar the Black Star. Ztar is an evil enitity who took the form of a Power Star but with a darker outlook. Ztar is the Mastermind behind the capturing of the Princess's castle. Ztar is Buck's and Chagma's leader. Ztar's battle arena will consist of: a square the same size of the main one in Buck's arena, with four cages around it. To get to the cages, you need the Wing cap and Vanish cap. To defeat Ztar, you have to hit him five times with the Metal cap. He flies around faster than Buck, so you really need the wing cap. He will fly inside the cages, so, the vanish cap is needed. I know probably all of this will be impossible, but it's nice to think that you CAN, but only if you're awesome at hacking. |

A legend of Zelda 3 hack which would be a mercenaries (resident evil) type challenge game. Upon loading the game it would give u a list of arenas to start where u would be thrown into an area with continuously regenerating enemies. On the screen would be a kill counter and within each room would be a select number of items to use against the enemies. Perhaps the enemies would appear in waves or just be continuously appearing.
Surviving for a set amount of time or for a set amount of kills would unlock another arena in the list. The arenas would be based in both the overworld and the underworld. |

Well I am working on a Blaster Master hack that has metroid graphics with graphics from a few other games as well. The idea would be an alternate timeline for both Blaster Master and Metroid.
Some ideas for ASM hacks would include: Crusher changed to Wave beam which penetrates walls, gun powerups, either one per level, or you have to find a lot of them to powerup the gun. Enemies and dying doesn't take gun power, extra upgrades such as faster walking speed, wall penetration, ability to use special weapons, special weapons upgrades. More gates and locks. More uses for Hyper, which will be renamed Charge Beam. A way for upgrades to physically alter the map. Changed level 7 music, which I hate. A use for level 8's upgrade. Perhaps a way to extend the life and hover bars, either making them efficient, or use 2 bytes instead of 1. |

The only powerups you should have in a level is a mushroom. the rest should be purchasable in a toad house. the coins should also be used forpayment to get into the warp pipe but then you should make it like a normal under ground level but when you get out you are in the new world. one more thing, try turning the aline the pictures correctly minigame in to a slot machine. I hope someone will try to make a hack like this. |
