Meh. I find a strategically-placed Hard Knuckle works wonders in those situations.

As for me, that wouldn't be my boss calling then. She probably doesn't get in that early, and knows I'm almost never AWAKE before noon. Doesn't make sense to be in by then, at least while school's in session.

7 am isn't that early. On first shift I had already been at work for 2 hours at 7am. And I'm not a morning person. Not even a daytime person. But even on second shift if I'm called in earlier due to some snafu (I am quite often), I just get up and go and sleep when get back. It's not that big of a deal.

My strategy (since 7AM is the friggin' middle of my night):

1. Get up, turn off ringer, go back to sleep.
2. Call back an hour or so after I get up, apologize for being away from/turning off my phone, fake interest in what they have to say.
3. (usually) Enjoy my hard-earned day off.

This strategy works wonders because it gives the caller time to find another solution to their problem (usually someone called in sick/didn't show up/blah), and also gives the impression that I care, since I did indeed call back (albeit belatedly). Just to mix things up and keep anyone from catching on to my little scheme, I will occasionally answer the first time it rings, though they usually don't need me to come in when I do that anyway.

I would answer it. Especially since I am the boss and if my boss is calling me that early, something is very wrong at the store.

But if that wasn't the case, I would wait for him to leave a message on my voice mail. If its important, he'll leave a message and then depending on the message, I would call him back.

If my current employer would call me at this time, they surely want to ask If a can come in the next hour, I will just politely refuse and say, that I'll have an hour or two till I'm at work, and won't be able to come because I do not work during the week (as it states in my contract).

Don't people just check aviable times before they ask? I can not work on thuesdays. Never. No Discussions.

Or just because Zürich has Sechseleuten, it doesn't mean that Rapperswil (about 40km from Zürich) has also holiday.

But yes, I would allways answer the call. It goes better with the employer and adds bonus points. (once a manager thanked me, because I answered the phone (i did decline)).

PS: I work at McDonalds. Pay WAY better than GameStop.
