Nice to see that I got third. I wouldn't have thought the ROM Hacking forum would be so active that I can score this high.
Probably activity will sink to the usual '7 posts a day' soon.

Yay. I actually placed.

It's kind of funny how there were ties in for first and third place.

My mom sent me that pig-drawing thing in an e-mail a while ago. After my brother and I found out how the scoring works, we'd draw goofy pigs just to get the right results. For example, a pig with a tail that filled the entire drawing area.

Never underestimate the ability of a telco or combination of telcos to stuff things right up.

Or a friend or a combination of friends.

And I'm stumped since I'm still trying to figure out how trying to configure a DS = modem go boom. I want to play Danielle.

I figured it was the router that went boom. Since that's what she's configuring.

Excuse my ignorance, but why is she configuring the router for a DS?

Is there some port forwarding or something that needs to be done in order to allow certain traffic through or such??

Well, sometimes you need to fiddle with the router's settings for the DS to recognize its signal. I needed to, but when I did it I got results.

Signal? So it's a wireless router??

I confused. But then, I don't have a DS, so meh. With mine at home, I'd have to configure my Linksys to recognise the MAC address of the DS, and such... does the DS support WPA?
Cynthia

Uh-huh.

Erm... the DS has WiFi so if you have a router, it can pick up the connection for online games. There's also extra things coming out; for example, Opera's releasing its browser in Japan soon. Not sure about WPA.

Ah. I asked because I suspect it would have trouble with my configuration.

My SSID is hidden, it allows only MAC addresses that I allow, and it uses WPA to authenticate. I suspect the DS is just going to ignore my wireless.

I'd have to loosen security I suspect for the DS to work. Something I am currently unwilling to do.

If it uses a WEP key for security, you can enter that in the DS and it'll be able to connect. Other forms of encryption are not supported.

BOOO WEP!!

Hmm... yeah, that would be a step down in security, so it's not happening. I like my WPA. I don't think my router allows me to set up an alternative for "exception" devices either.

Meh, not to worry. I don't have a DS yet. I would like one, I just have... financial issues concerning a certain ISP I ranted about in General before... grr.... overcharging, customer abusing sons a' bitches.

Still in 3rd. It's just like Mario Kart. You just a few points behind, but it's so hard to get up there without sacrificing so much time, or lose (or, in forum-wise, get banned) trying.

But I won't be sacrificing so much time. Even though the board says I'm on all day, I'm really not in front of the computer so much.
