201.216.192.49  automatic spambot protection
222.98.48.241 automatic spambot protection

Try viewing the source of the registration page. This is so absurdly trivial, and yet it works.

I wish more things were this easy.

Not hackers, script kittys.
And in time it will fail but there are other things one can do.

I see what you did there.

Good work, Xk, this is a pretty sweet solution.

Is that sum loli?
Oh wait...No. Its just a hidden "Homepage" filter on the registration page. Ingenious, but I'm sure not all spambots fill in the homepage field.

So what? No protection catches -all- STDs spambots. But it helps.

Unless the method catches on with a LOT of boards, it'll provide a decent amount of protection for a decent amount of time. I doubt many people who make them would bother to create a workaround purely for this board.

It does seem like a silly method to use, but... if it works, cool.

Actually, the one trait XK picked up on was that they do, indeed, ALWAYS fill in a homepage. I don't know how long that'll be true for, but it's why he created that.

if($_POST["homepage"] != "") $spambot = true;

Really, shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

I think it would interesting to log the information that was entered into the registeration page(name/password/homepage) along with with the User-Agent string.

Also, in the unlikely case that the spammers are stupid enough to use the same password at many sites, someone could really fuck with thier operation.
