All right. So, thanks to Dan, I've basically know the level data like the back of my hand, and am even trying to convince a friend to make a level editor (Famicom Wars; NES).
However, I can't really take advantage of the data due to a certain hardship: terrain. For each tile there's something telling the game how much defense a tile provides, what the background is, and what to display on the maps' terrain viewer thinger (best term ever, thank you). Now, modifying this data isn't exactly the trouble: finding how the game says which tiles use it is. For example, I can't make new road tiles and still have them act as water. Where and how could the data be found? What I've tried already: -I've found the terrains tile TSA in hopes of perhaps having each tile being placed there, but nothing, alas. -I've gone from the internal list and looked in the ROM for something saying which tile is what, by both bit and byte. Nothing. ... But as of writing this, could possibly looking through that cheat finder thing (gamegenie) help? As in, go on a normal grass tile and then onto a mountain and use that to help out? |
