Telling someone who is capable of addressing the heater issue may be a good idea.

Just sayin'.

I just turned it up to 80 and it kicked on.

(then promptly back down to 60, and it's still whizzing away, not that I mind... I actually liked 56, it's just that my grandparents like it at 70...

As for the heating discussion... my house is normally a tad bit colder than I like... I just put on a jacket or something

Either way XK... you may want to get it looked at by a professional... (As if that wasnt obvious enough)

We have no problem keeping the house warm now, as the weather is mostly mild outside. But just a few days ago, we had some trouble keeping certain rooms in the house warm, since there were some cold and strong winds outside (and probably because the house is old, and leaks in all directions..). That's when it's awesome to have a fireplace.

Heh, at this house I'm at now we don't have an AC. STOP BITCHING I LIVE IN SOCAL WITH NO AIR.
But at my dad's, he does have air, and he keeps the house at like, 50. All the time. I'm a popsicle.

I can't remember the last time that we used a heater. The A/C is usually kept at 70 degrees all the time.

We have AC for the summer. Usually kicks in whenever it gets really sticky outside, so that the house is nice and cool while the porch ends up being a boiling cesspool.

If it's cold (like now) I wear more clothes, if it's hot I wear less.
My parents swear we're poor, they're just cheap.
Luckily, I will be trying out jobs soon, minimum wage, but it's something.

50 Fahrenheit.. that's like 10 Celsius. Your dad can't be sane..

As of right now, the temperature in my room is 23,3 C or 73,4 F. That's actually a bit on the warm side. Around 21 is enough for me, really.

Oh yeah, and we don't have an A/C installed in our house. It's not common here in Norway. This has been discussed before.

On cold days, the heater is on 78 degrees. On summers days, the AC is usually on 70 degrees. Those are the settings that my dead use on the AC. I usually don't mess with them because I don't want to break it since it's still new. I got a new AC at the beginning of summer of 2004 because the old one broke because it was too old, that old AC was around before I was even before. It took a few days to replace it and put in the new AC but during the time before the new AC was installed, I couldn't even stay inside my own house during the day because it got so hot; the temperature was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Instead, I just stay in the hospital where my works all day. In night, it was still hot and was very hard to go to sleep. Once the new AC finally got installed, everything went back to normal except for the bill which was about $2000 and it ruined vacation.

Wow, I should stop rambling now.

In my house, we neither use air or the heater--so, this house is currently 62 right now and in the summers the house can push 85 degrees...

my feet are cold. My house temperature is about 55º right now because we're trying to conserve heat. It's freezing outside to.

No one should ever have cold feet. Ever.

if you are wearing socks and are still freezing then ouch

when it starts getting cold, I try to bundle up by wearing more layers, or wrapping myself in a blanket while I'm doing stuff

It's actually been really nice outside lately. I went over to the gas station to buy beer in a t-shirt.

Yay mild winter! It's about time!

We've had enough snow this year. I'd be happy if we got no more snow for the rest of the winter, but there's still technically 2 months left...

It was apparently 5C outside today. Didn't really feel like it...

But you have to admit, snow adds some variety to the normally drab landscape. Things just seem so different when you view them with snow. Although I can see how it might be irritating to drivers.

Bah. We don't need to conserve... well, I don't leave my PC on at night so that's my contribution to the conservation efforts I guess.

I like snow but I don't like too much snow. It's like... hm... 5cm is nice, 25cm is a total bitch to get around in. There's a fine balance.
