Well, she lived with her family. She was about my age, she was bipolar, and she'd recently found out she was schizophrenic. She had a hard time dealing with people in general...and I think that's what caused her to do what she did...she felt like she was a burden on everyone in her life, and many of her close friends were on the internet. So if that's where your closest friends are...I really wish I used an IM client that told me when I'd last talked with her...

Well, fair enough. If you really are that crazy. But... It still seems... Wrong to me.

And to me as well, really. But it does make some degree of sense when you consider how tied she was to people on the internet. I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that I wasn't aware until now that she had these issues. I knew she was weird, and had some personal issues, but I thought it about ended at that.

It could be bad that I didn't know because maybe I could have tried to do more to help, somehow, I don't even know what, but something.

But it could also be a good thing because if she'd wanted that help from me, she could have asked me for it, and perhaps the best thing I could do for her was what I did...provide an open ear and be about as good a friend as I could be over the internet. I really just hope that I helped some of her time to be a bit happier.

I'd hate to break a discussion but...
I found something incredibly awesome that a brother of a friend redirected me to!

The Megaman Effect.

Its a program that does the MM2 boss intro for all applications you open. Was available for OSX but now is available for Windows as well.
I got a laugh out of it... heh...

Now you may resume your discussion...

Or I can respond to that. Because The Megaman Effect is awesome. I'm sure I will be thoroughly sick of it before the end of tomorrow, even, but until then, I find it to be positively wonderful.

Seems like it starts up whenever it detects a new program running, and it also seem to delay the startup of the program you're starting to.

It's nifty, heh.

I tried the Megaman Effect. It's cool, but gets old fast and messes up some of the programs. I couldn't even open the uninstall program!

I used that program for a while. I love MegaMan 2. It didn't mess up any of my programs, but it really got under my mom's skin.

The program that I downloaded off this website that no longer works was virused, and I didn't know until my McAfee Virus Scanner detected it. I couldn't uninstall the thing off the Programs List, it sometimes freezes a program application when I open it, and sometimes I find some files mysteriously missing and badily corrupted when I turn on the computer.

Last year right before Christmas, the whole computer just stopped working on me and restarts before I reach the Welcome Windows screen...

Lost alot of important files cause of that...

Hm? It might have been a copy that was infected with a virus. Or perhaps it was a trojan horse or something of that sort. But I doubt it was directly responsible for killing your computer.

I read about that in my local newspaper the other day. A big change in the story about Judas stating he was someone who a much better person than who he was given credit for...

I agree. It's amazingly unlikely that that the program would kill your comp when it doesn't for everyone else... It sound more like uh.

A virus.

Well... McAfee said before that were was a medium-risk worm virus that was causing trouble a month ago. Apparently this worm would cause serious damage to your computer, and will unexpectedly restart your computer. When that happened to me, it loads up as usual, but it brings up a blue screen, then restarts.

The reason why I had to buy a new computer cause when I went to get it repaired, those guys at Neo Computers couldn't do a damn thing about it...

Odd, something similiar happened to me. I think it was an IRC worm, it was around for quite a while. Except my computer did get repaired, and the crashing absolutely nothing to do with the worm. It had a faulty motherboard, and was in the shop a few times *BEFORE* I bought it.

I got a weird trojan a few days ago when I was looking at KoL coldfront; since it was approved by Jick, (who is the creator of Kingdom of Loathing) I assumed it would be safe. I have no idea where it could have come from, but Avast took care of it.

I didn't see that show about the Gospel of Judas. Though, now that I think about it, all twelve of the disciples of Jesus probably wrote a gospel on him... I wonder where the rest are? :\

Ridiculous!

You guys need to take better care of your computers. I've had this one for four months now, and I haven't had any malware-related problems =/
