I got my DS on Christmas of 2004 and SM64 DS with it. I never got a new DS game till late July of last year which was Meteos.

I didn't have to do anything to get the DS except keep my grades high.

I've got to say...in not having a DS, I feel rather left out. One of my friends continues to try to convince me to get one, but the fact is, I haven't even finished playing the GBA games that I got...I'd rather play a console when I can, and there aren't that many times for me to be playing portables. So it really might not be worth it to get a DS.

You don't need to be moving to enjoy a portable game.

Rather, that mindset is what is going to cost you dearly in terms of playing good games.

Yes, I know you don't need to be moving to enjoy a portable game. My point, however, is that there are a lot of console games that I'd rather play, and if my choice is between the console game and the portable game, the console one is the one I generally choose. Damn limited time...

Well then, could you perhaps give some specific examples of games which are better than Jump Super Stars, Mario Kart DS, Meteos, etc.?

You don't need to get a DS. I don't have one, and I'm fine with my PSP. It just hasn't gotten many good games yet.

Unpredictable. Watch your backs. Or not. Whichever. I want Metal Gear Solid 4 so badly.

Geez, since the PSP came out, everyone at my school thinks DS's are lame. That sets back about 500 matchs I would have on Mario Kart.

It's like racist. >8^( No love for Mario Kart... Which THAT also promotes their lack of challenge or skill.

Without Wifi at McDonalds I'd be the ultimate gamer in five of my surrounding counties. In other words, I'd have 1000+ straight wins.

It sucks that my town stopped having tournaments.

Your not the only one. My school is the exact same thing except the think every system that Nintendo makes is lame. All they care about is the PSP and Halo. No love for any other great games.

Not saying I hate the PSP because I might get one since they did lower the price to $200 finally.

Civilization IV, Simcity 4, OTTD.

...intresting to see about PSP and DS, becuse uhm... the sales of PSP have been kind of low.

Civ 4 I understand. It's not the kind of thing I like but it looks like it's a pretty good game. SimCity 4 confuses me a bit more, but eh. But what the heck is OTTD?

Well, if you like Advance wars then you probably would like Civ 4 too. Becuse they're both the same type of game. First time I played Advance wars, I was like "Gee, this is like a modern warfare Civilization II but portable". And yes, I'm a fan of both games.

And well, people usually complain about Simcity4 being too hard. It's understandable...

OpenTTD is a open source version of Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Like with the Doom ports, you need the orginal game to run it. It's probably one of the best simulator games out there, and it's over ten years old now.

Well SimCity 4 seems like it just has a LOT of stuff to keep track of, which would naturally make it rather difficult. The last one I played was 2000. Which was released something like 10 years ago, I think.

As for better games, I'm not saying the games are necessarily better on consoles, but I enjoy playing console games in general more than I enjoy playing portable games, so long as they're good games. Plenty of titles I'd "miss out on" among the console library as well if I played more portable games.

How can you be certain if you don't have a DS to compare?

And Civ, from what I have seen, seems to suffer more from slippery slope than AW.

And Sim City's not hard, it's just... I don't know, I find that type of game immensely boring.

Civ has more than enough difficulty settings to tweak around with, though. You can start with an insanely easy game where you roll over all the civilizations and then work your way up from there until you find a level that's challenging enough.

Perhaps I did mean in a multiplayer game. I was under the impression Civ 4 could be played competitively over the internet. If I was mistaken, then that further lowers my impression of the game, as I do tend to prefer multiplayer games

Oh yes. Well, you'd expect a price drop in the near future especially with the DS Lite coming out.

Civ 4 can be played online I think. Not like I've messed around with it that much to try, but it's possible. Then again, the level of competition there might be all over the place.

So yeah, if I see a considerate price drop... who knows. Though I'd only have 1 or 2 games for a while. =\Maybe I'll get money from relatives, since Easter is the day before, and I always see relatives on Easter.
