Is your name ? or something else, Ailure? Because that is was shows up on my computer... 0_o

Skydude: If anyones name was Katrina, they'd be murdered in Hurricane affected areas and forced to migrate up north.

And I don't think there is a Hurricane William. Doesn't sound too pleasing for some reason...

Then again, hurricanes suck, especially here in Florida.
*sigh* Oh well. This time I have a DS and a laptop so that way if another hurricane knocks my power out, I am set with a RPG and some story typing...
...but I don't want another hurricane to come by. Showering using milk jugs is not fun...

It's kind of like weather karma, in a way. Florida has great weather for the most part, as does the rest of that area, but they get hurricanes sometimes to make up for it. And for the west coast, earthquakes.

Here in the midwest, we have crappy weather, but no big problems.

Granted, some parts of the midwest have tornadoes, but their overall weather is a bit nicer than where I'm from.

Uh-huh.

Earthquakes are a lot less common than hurricanes, though. It's just that when one of them hits... well, they could be a *little* more destructive than hurricanes.

If I had a choice, however, I'd take California over Florida in terms of living somewhere.

We almost never get earthquakes anywhere near as bad as Florida gets hurricanes, though. If you want that sort of thing, look at Japan.

Well, Japan's real problem is that whenever there's an earthquake, they get tidal waves too.

And that just sucks.

I hate the term tidal wave. It's nothing but inaccurate.

Except, I suppose. They ARE waves.

So it's HALF accurate. I guess.

Well, accurate or not for what they are, that is what they're called, after all.

And I've decided to go with the commie thing for now

I found my name in that Fiji hurricane list. List D.

I donīt know what year itīll be used, though. Weīve actually felt an earthquake in sweden but it was just a little one and it was many years ago so I donīt remember it. My parents told me about it.

Hurricane Alexander... hmm, I like the sound of that. I wonder if it did any damage when it happened (if it did, though Hurricane Alex works too, provided it was used as M and not F... you do know the naming cycle for those, right?)

anyway, on to pointless:

Well, tidal wave is a correct term in the vernacular, which it might be argued is exactly what I was using

Speaking of weather...

And just for Kyouji,
-------------------------------------------------
The term tidal wave can refer to:

A tsunami. Tidal wave is a common name for the occurrence, however this traditional usage is considered incorrect by oceanographers and other scientists since no tides are involved. Tidal can be thought to refer to the magnitude rather than the nature of the wave. Although the term "tidal wave" was formerly more popular with the general public, news media reporting of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake used the term "tsunami" almost exclusively. As a result, the term "tsunami" is now much better known.
-------------------------------------------------
Thus, that makes him correct.

Cali hasn't had a real destructive earthquake since the one in Northridge in... 93, was it? We've had some minor ones, but nothing that caused real damage. Not here in southern cali, at least.

How many hurricanes have hit Florida since 93?
