Well, the problem with downloading the internet isn't just about the size of the internet as it is now...the problem is that, like the universe, it is continually expanding. As I've been typing this, there have been quite a few pages made, tons of images uploaded, etc...

Basically, you'd be fighting a losing battle with expansion.

Not necessarily. Considering you have a big enough hard drive and a download speed that can download faster than the internet expands, you would eventually download everything static. Then you simply would have to check for updates periodically (IE: forums) and you'd be home free.

Your post reminded me of a Bash quote, though. This one.

On a side note, I was playing Super Princess Peach and got 777 coins from a star bonus, which brought my grand coin total to 13,666.

Anything weird like that ever happen to you?

I had exactly 66,666 G in Final Fantasy VI once. Granted, I only noticed it when at the shop so that went away in a hurry, but still.

Now if only final fantasy wasn't horridly repetitive and not worth playing in general... Sigh.

Makes me wonder what the exhange rate for Gil<->US dollars is.

Actually, there was some site keeping track of that. With Final fantasy online and the illegal money farming that exists on every decent offical MMORPG server.

Meh, the first one wasn't that repetitive due to the replay value. However, I find that many of the other ones are severly lacking in the replay value department. It's just not as fun after the first time. I suppose you can say that they're just big on hot gas (story) and small on gameplay.

Plus the series is starting to get rather weak. And I mean that in both the common and a slang definition. I mean, in comparison, the main character of FFXII makes Tidus look manly. Seriously, what were they thinking when they made that guy? It's Final Fantasy, not Metro Fantasy.

Personally I've never thought of infusing even the not particularly cliched elements of the story with cliches was a great way to write a story. Perhaps that's just me.

And yet Famitsu gave FFXII a perfect score (10, 10, 10, 10 = 40), despite the mixed reactions to the DQ8 demo.

I'd say SE bought them off but Famitsu put the screws to them with the new FF7 game (7, 7, 7, 7 = 28).

If you make every detail perfect, people will become suspicious. If you leave out a few scattered things, the wary eyes will look away.

Famitsu is a very biased magazine in my opinion. The only one I agree that should have gotten a perfect score is OoT. Soul Caliber and The Wind Waker should be high, but not perfect. I never played Vagrant Story or Nintendogs, but I know that the latter doesn't deserve to be on there. Granted, the interactivity is amazing, but in my opinion, it's pretty much just Tamagotchi/Giga Pets on steroids. In fact, if you look at their reader top 100 list, it is vastly different from their scores.

(in other words, I'm saying that a game's greatness should be based on public opinion, not private opinion)

Eh. The masses are ignorant and easily swayed. That would be just as flawed.

As of today? US$17.89 = 1M Gil, according to http://www.gameusd.com/. Creepy, really

In re: Famitsu, they're owned by a game company in the first place. Of course they're biased as hell.

I´ve gotten torrents to 300-450kB/s once. Might have been more. It depends on how many seeders and leechers there are, though. And how much you´re uploading at the same time.

At least in Azureus. That´s what I´m using.

Well, most of the Famitsu scores are generally held up to pretty high standards...so even if they're somewhat biased, they tend to be relatively reliable. Then again, that could just be the masses being swayed by them and agreeing because of that, sooooooo......

I've gotten some pretty insane speeds on torrents, though I can't recall exactly what offhand. I haven't downloaded anything lately, since the server we're on has severe fines for ANY type of P2P filesharing, which they scrutinze pretty closely, even if the thing being downloaded is legal.

I learned something new today.

Most OC Remixes were not meant to be played at 200% speed/pitch and at max volume.
