It's almost unheard of anymore to not go to college. And getting a good career without some kind of degree is practically impossible.
So yes, I plan on going to college. 2 years from now and I'll be there.

What kind of class are you going to take, then?

Itīs pretty hard to get a career without going to college here too but it is possible.

After a little college you'll notice how many opportunities open up. Sometimes you don't need any college, just some high-school experience. If you're really good at graphics and programming, you could easily rack up $30-120 thousand a year in webmastering.

I don't quite know what classes I'll take. I want to do something with teaching, so.. whichever classes are needed for that. I'll look more into it when college is closer.

You could start as a teacher's assistant. I've been one more than once and it'll look good on a resume. Just get good grades, be polite to the teacher, and negotiate with your councellor. He/she should be more than happy to discuss these matters with you. I'm confident that you could pull it out.

I'm going to college for geology starting in January, I don't want to be a teacher, but I will be getting a teacher's certificate as well, honestly.

just because we go away for college doesn't mean we are going to get cut off from computers and stuff. I'm in college and I'm still posting...probably because I never got into the college experience of partying, staying out late into the wee hours of the morning etc.

Yeah, I should be off to university next fall to study meteorology. I'm hoping it will be cool, and that everything will go smooth.

Bleh! Soon itīs only me left. Who should I post with when everyone is away?

Itīd turn into a lot of back and forth posting.

Some of us are in college and desperately want the fsck out...

...after getting done with all the crap.

Anyways, three things:

1) Title.
2) I just gouged my left index finger's side with a fork...cool...cool...depressing...cool.
3) I just had a box lunch with a side of corn on the cob that didn't suck. What the crap?

Some of us are in college/university and only have to spend 25-30 minutes a day travelling to and fro.

1) Meh.
2) Ugh.
3) WTF.

I have to spend an hour overall just going back and forth from school, and I'm not even in college...

Why the anti-Christmas in the thread title? I like the holiday season myself...

It was most, but I changed it to least.

I don't really feel that it's that bad, but eh. It's definitely overrated.

The best thing about the holidays is getting to hang out with people. I just booked our flights to the annual massive gathering of friends in central Illinois. Two of our most bestest friends in the whole wide world live out there in a big old farmhouse and have been hosting a New Year's gathering since New Year's 2002/2003. I'm stupidly happy because I got a good price flying out of our dinky airport into their dinky airport. I thought we could save money by flying to O'Hare and carpooling with some other most bestest friends who live in Chicago and are driving down to the party, but it was almost the same price as just going to the dinky airport, so I figured why complicate my friends' travel plans if it's not really necessary?

It is convenient when people have breaks from work and school at the same time, making it easier to get everyone together, but yeah, holidays are overrated. I'm especially sick of the rampant advertising and classic Christmas music being ruined by horrendous lite-rock "artists". Hearing that shit in the store does not make me feel warm and fuzzy and OMG I WANNA BUY BUY NOW. It makes me want to leave (or hork, or possibly do both at the same time).
