Zem: Good fat momma jokes are the best. I also need to check out Pharcyde. Heard of them. Haven't heard them. Except on a song from the album Follow The Leader (By Korn)

And why are you downloading a file that big? Also, is it a single enormous file, or quite a few smaller files? If it's the latter, then it's slightly less of a problem, maybe, if it stops near the end, because some of the files may be finished downloading. I've had that happen to me before, and it's still rather troublesome.

yeah, bittorrent is pretty much all about downloading huge files in multiple sessions over several days/weeks

at least in my experience

and I don't think you can access any of the files until the whole thing's done, never tried though

Nope, gotta wait zem

Anyways... its actually 26, 126 meg files...

Something like that... either way... the download rate has pretty much settled into a very nice 20kbps (Much faster than it has been)... any guesses on what the estimated time is?

If my calculations are correct, that should be around...uhh...about two days or three days? I'm probably way off again, but...what have I got to lose by taking a guess?

You don't have very fast DSL, do you?

And you can set up BT to capture certain files first but it might take a little longer. If a download's 98% complete and a few files are done, I'm fairly certain you can access them.

Even with resume transfer, it depends. I've had a few files on Azureus, which I use because at times I've gotten absolutely insane speeds off of it at times (or at least insane compared to what I was used to, getting a 250 MB file in 20 minutes), which had a number of seeds at first, but then towards the end, all the seeds fell off. And I ended up as one of a number of people with 60-some percent of the file done, and no one with parts of the file I didn't online. This happened for weeks before I gave up on it.

Actually, I have broadband...

I just have to do things while it downloads... cutting the download speed...

Either way, 2days, 10 hours.... lets see what happens when I go to school

Surely you realize DSL is a kind of broadband connection, right?

You know that itīs only the network thatīs 52mb/s, right?

Almost no broadband connection is that fast except those that companies are using.

My DSL download rate is between 20 Kbps and 30 kbps.

Rarely does it go pass that.

And don't complain about time. It once took me two weeks to download the Fourth Harry Potter movie since there was not many seeds to it and was moving at the pace of a snail.

I really don't understand how anybody can get by with just dialup anymore. The internet is basically designed for broadband these days, with all the images and such everywhere.
