Psychotic flashing names make Colin retreat into whatever game he was playing last.

Let's try get away from spree talk... um... Sea Salt & Pepper chips from Lay's are really quite good. Not sure if they're exclusive to Canada (they come in a grey bag) but they have a nice kick to them.

There is something worse than flashing names that was mentioned, and quickly pushed under by the mountain of spam:

Ninja AE Torture. Forced on all users. Now that is a nightmare.

And yes, I do like Sea Salt & Pepper chips, and I'm not sure if they're exclusive to Canada...but the last time I had them was when I was in Canada at a job interview there, so that may be the case.

So we knew that Chester played fetch, but we just discovered that he plays ball. Rando rolls a rubber ball toward him, and he grabs at it and kicks it back. He also likes to attack playing cards. And sit on my patterns and rumble when I'm trying to work on my cosplay stuff. Cats rule.

Well, if a fad EVER gets out of control again and Xk doesn't like it, 5 minutes of AE Torture would likely kill it dead in its tracks. Thanks for the (evil) idea.

Hey, it's evil, but I like it. I have fun with these fads, but I think I'd have a lot more fun reading really MEANINGFUL posts than the kind of stuff these generate. And I'll put up with a bit of AE Torture if necessary if it gets that effect.

Fads are best used sparingly. It's like the difference between sitting around and being pointless and dumb with your friends and doing something interesting (or at least having a more substantial conversation). I generally prefer interesting conversation, but just letting loose and yelling random movie lines, stupid fart jokes, etc. back and forth is fun once in a while.

Aww, that sounds so cute.

And I agree with Rydain. We canīt have fad after fad akk the time. Itīll get boring that way. Sometimes itīs good with low activity as you can go do other stuff.

Eh, I'd just like to know what I posted in that thread which has now been moved to a restricted forum, as I honestly can't remember what I posted, and what the thread was about.

Nothing.

It was about nothing.

Consider it a blessing that you can't remember.

The thread is one giant blur of words, smilies, pictures, music, and pyramids.

It's only a few threads, really.

And yeah, what others have already said: This sort of stuff is fun once (Or twice, if XK typos his code. At least this one didn't totally destroy the board like his last one... ) in awhile, but it would definitely do more harm than good after awhile. Incidentally, now that bunches of people have obscene amounts of coins, I don't know how successful another spam night would be with the board in its present state anyway.

I managed to miss both crazy spam nights by going out and drinking. I have mixed feelings about this.

What is the difference anyways?

Yeah. Spam night was successful because of a juxtaposition of unique factors:

- Approval from the management (as evidenced by Xkeeper's "What if I told you I never left?" post and his permitting the spam to go on without putting thread restrictions back on...and the ginormous counter and progress bar)
- A bunch of people who were in the mood to go nutzoid
- A stated challenge (the progress bar) with no indication of what would happen if the challenge was won
- A reward (the obvious coin bounty)

People like to try to do things just to see if they can, and notice that people (yeah, me included) were making stupid posts to try to get the 2000th post in happy hour. "I bet you can't" is surprisingly persuasive. The unknown outcome of winning the 2000 post challenge was persuasive as well.

Somehow I am getting the idea that this was all a psychology experiment for school. Or maybe just for fun.

No, it wasn't an experiment. :\ But on Friday Xk was... shall we say... very depressed about overall activity. :\

The challenge is to see if we can keep activity up WITHOUT Happy Hour.

I know. :\ I'd get rid of the rainbow colors if I could, but I figure that Xk just hasn't gotten around to that. Or he wants to keep them even though there's no holiday/occasion to celebrate.

I think we can. Being silly on the board puts people in a good mood about being on the board, and that encourages them to post more. When you feel positive about the board, you tend to see more conversation and threads of interest. You feel inclined to participate.

That's the case with me right now, at least.
