No, I think the user was male. Doesn't really matter who it was, though.

Yes, I mean Ayumi Hamasaki, there is no artist by the name of just Ayumi

Okay, has someone posted that video before? I recognized it.

The reason I think that J-Pop is good is because how happy it sounds.

Here's some friendly advice: If you're not sure what happened, for any reason, read the thread again. If it's a very long thread which has deviated greatly from what it was at the start, then it's acceptable not to read the whole thing and you can just read the last several pages. But whatever you do, don't just make no attempt to freshen up on knowledge of the topic at hand, kay?

That's a double negative.

Anyways, Alastor's right here, I used to do that, and I got the royal bitchslap of hatred (by him).

But I think it's something a few newbies do that will hopefully fade away with posting experience.

EDIT: my post is the curent year.

And my post is next year.

My iPod is MAINLY filled with North American music... lots of rock... some stuff from Japan and Mexico in there... some instrumental/video game stuff... and that's about it.

My next task is going to be adding a bunch of game music to the iPod, which won't be done overnight but then again it's not like I want to put whole soundtracks on there. In most cases.

I just added my boyfriend to my iPod... which is funny .

And uh, I have mostly rock. Ranging from Rasputina to Weezer, to the Strokes, the Beatles and the Beach Boys... and of course a little Kanye West. Who doesn't?

And it's bad, but I love to use the light on myPod. It's all bright.. and it makes myPod look badass. Like Chuck Norris, in full skin tight pleather. Mmmmph.

The amount of songs that aren't from videogames pales in comparison to the amount that are on my playlist... 12 out of 394...

good for you; so are you just anti-apple or just don't like any corporation as big as Apple? And, how is apple a corporate death machine? I'm sure many people like Apple more than Microsoft...

Maybe that anyone who could not like Bill Gates is Steve Jobs or something? I mean, after all, it would surprise me for Microsoft's competition NOT to hate Bill. They used dishonorable management techniques in order to force their way to the top. Hell, I almost appriciate certain virus creators for their work, but only if it has a vigilante aura to it. For example, that one virus that was around a few years back that caused computers to constantly restart. In one of the messages displayed before a restart, it told Bill Gates to "stop making money and fix your software".

That's a double negative.

It's an acceptable double negative. If you work through the negatives it has the correct meaning. Double negatives are unacceptable when they give the wrong meaning (i.e. two negatives where one would suffice), or if they make an unclear sentence. This sentence is slightly awkward, but still easy to comprehend, and it gives a different meaning than it would with no negatives.

Well, a double negative = a positive, so it changes the meaning of his sentence.

don't just make no attempt to freshen up on knowledge of the topic at hand

would be

Do not make no attempt to..., so in other words, it says to not not make an attempt to freshen up on knowledge of the topic at hand.

What the hell am I talking about?

Way to go, Captain Comprehension! Read my post again. I know that a double negative creates a positive.

"don't just make no attempt to ..." is similar in meaning to "make some attempt to ..." but the tone is different. That's why a double negative is acceptable here.
